Kabanata 33: The Wrath of Jealousy

I could definitely tell that our trip was the best trip I've ever had in my entire life!

While we were doing a hike in Mt. Madhya, I continuously took pictures of Sunshine while she's having a hard time sa daanan. Naawa na ako kalaunan sa itsura niya so I offered to be a gentleman and helped her with the best way that I can.

When we reached the summit of the mountain, namangha kaagad kaming lahat. My heart suddenly beated fast when I felt a sudden De ja Vu as I roam my eyes on the green scenery below us.

"Wag mo nalang masyadong isipin. Madalas din naman ako magka-De ja Vu pero hindi ko nalang iniisip masyado."

I turned to Sunshine and smiled at her when she reached my hand. The feeling was familiar again, but this time, it was different.

I was imagining that I was holding onto a beautiful little girl who looks like her.

Dumating na ang gabi and my eyes couldn't cooperate with my worned out body from our trip. Napatayo ako mula sa pagkakahiga and I was surprised when I saw Ouie na abala pa pala sa pagkalikot sa cellphone niya.

"Bakit hindi ka pa natutulog?"

"Eh ikaw? Bakit hindi ka pa din natutulog?" We stared at each other before frowning. "Bakit pa nga ba ako nagtatanong if I already know the reason?"

Tumayo si Ouie and prepared his jacket katulad ko. It's little bit cold outside but we both decided to go for a walk. Nagkwento nanaman ulit siya about sa babaeng gusto niya until he said that it was my turn to open up.

"Family matters lang. My Dad thinks that Mama was cheating on him." I heaved out a long sigh. "Hindi ko pa naman sila nacontact nung last na pumunta tayo sa bayan. I just hope they confronted and settled things already."

"That explains why your mood suddenly changes nung pauwi na tayo." Ouie frowned. "Pero ano? What's the plan? Gusto mo bang bumalik sa bayan para macontact sila?"

"No Ouie. Don't bother anymore. Magkakaayos din ang mga yun." I waved my hand to shrug those thoughts away. "Hindi lang din naman yun ang iniisip ko sa ngayon eh."

"Ano?"

Napakamot ako sa batok ko. I was unsure about the sudden thought that popped up in my mind pero okay lang naman sigurong subukan.

"Nagkita na ba tayo dati dito sa Lachlane? I mean, do you remember if we met when we were younger? Mga around 6 years old?"

Nagsalubong ang mga kilay ni Ouie ng ilang segundo bago siya dahan-dahang umiling.

"Hindi ako masyadong nakakaalala ng mga pangyayari noon but you really look familiar when we first met." Napahawak si Ouie sa baba niya. "But I guess, there is someone who can help us remember kung sakaling totoo nga ang kutob mo."

It was my forehead's turn para kumunot.

"Sino naman?"

Agad siyang tumayo and I found myself sitting inside the family of Enrico's residence next. Kahit na nakaramdam ako ng kaunting awkwardness because of what I behaved during the first day, I chose to forget it and act like nothing happened.

"Sorry kung medyo makalat ngayon sa bahay namin." Enrico scratched his forehead while smiling. "Upo muna kayo at gagawan ko kayo ng maiinom."
