(Lily's POV)

I was aware of malevolent eyes on me, but I couldn't pinpoint them. I stretched and thinned my senses as far as they could go, but I couldn't discover anyone in my sense range with those eyes, which was unusual because it felt like they were close to me.

"What's the matter?" Kasumi inquired, seeing me on high alert and sending out my senses, with a confused face.

"I felt menacing eyes on me that were extremely familiar, but I can't recall who they were." With a smile on my face, I said to Kasumi.

"I see, if you can't recall, we won't be able to do anything about it, so don't worry about it." Kasumi smiled as she spoke.

"True". I muttered that as the feeling of being watched faded away.

We returned inside once the meteor shower ended and went to bed because it was late.

Kasumi grabbed my hand before I entered the land of dreams, and she used it to drag me into her embrace, giving me no chance to refuse, which I didn't mind because I enjoyed it.

I quickly fell asleep in her embrace and entered the land of dreams.

(Lily's Dream)

"Where am I?"

Lily was soon in a room that was completely white, as if it had been bleached.

"Wasn't I in the Japanese Inn? Is this a dream? No, it couldn't be a dream since I wouldn't notice if it was".

I started traveling through the infinite whiteness until I came across a woman who appeared cloudy, making it difficult for me to see her clearly.

The woman had a slender figure, large breasts, black hair, and was dressed in a white and gold dress while reclining in a comfortable chair, her red eyes fixed on me.

"Who are you?"

I approached the woman, who appeared to want to speak, but all I could hear were hoarse and unclear words. I knew she was trying to tell me something, but I couldn't understand what she was saying.

She tried everything she could to make me comprehend her, but it was futile, as seen by the sigh on her face.

She eventually gave up and flicked her finger, bringing me back into reality and out of the white room.

(Back to Reality)

"Aaah". With a frightened gasp, I awoke.

I turned around to find myself back inside the Japanese inn's room, still in Kasumi's embrace, so I cautiously and slowly slipped out of her grasp before opening the sliding door to observe the dark sky.

"Was that a dream? It felt too real to be a dream, and I recall everything that happened, so if it was a dream, I should've been unable to remember it totally or not at all." Looking out from the porch, I muttered.

I couldn't seem to make up my mind, so I went for a stroll to clear my head.

"I apologize for leaving you behind, Kasumi." I whispered to myself, carefully avoiding waking her up.

I exited the room and changed into my slippers before walking through the quiet halls, which were still lit by the orange paper lanterns, and eventually arriving in the lobby, where a different receptionist sat and awaited any new arrivals.

"Do you require any assistance?" When the receptionist saw me heading into the lobby, she questioned.

"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to walk around town to clear my thoughts." With a smile, I said.

"All right, then, good night." The receptionist responded, with a brighter smile but still a look of disappointment in her eyes, which I assumed meant she wanted to speak with someone since no guests had come tonight.

I thought it was odd that the woman seemed to drift into a daze once she took a proper look at me, but I didn't mind.

"Thanks". As I walked towards the shoe locker, I said.

I took the key from my storage unit and opened the shoe locker. I then took my boots from inside the locker and put them on before shutting the locker and putting the slippers inside.

"Are guests allowed to keep the yakutas". With a puzzled expression, I inquired of the receptionist.

"Yes, guests are allowed to keep them." The receptionist recovered from her daze at my magnificence.

"All right, I'll get going now." I remarked this as I walked reception desk and returned the key before walking to entrance.

"Good night," she says. Before I left the inn, the receptionist mentioned with a smile that she at least got to chat to someone, as most nights there were no guests arriving, leaving her alone and without someone to talk to.

I quickly left the inn and began walking down the mountain the inn was located on, which didn't take long because the inn was only halfway up the mountain in a huge flat clearing with a short road leading up the mountain, which I followed.

With the moon shining on my silver hair that was being blown by the wind, the wind felt cool and brushed my skin, making me feel peaceful. With my night vision, the night didn't appear as dark, but it was still more soothing than the day.

I walked into the city, seeing the empty streets with no one around, although some houses had lights on inside, while others were completely black inside, with the moon lighting up the outside.

Lily continued to wander through the streets, clearing her mind of all thoughts and resting in the cool evening air.
