An Unexpected Change

My others lessons seemed normal to me. The teachers were actually alright , some I would even go so far as to say were pretty cool. I was dreading today because I thought that I would have to introduce myself in every class and end up doing something dim but fortunately I only had to introduce myself in English. That was a terrible and unforgettable experiance.

I just stood up and said ”Hi I’m Teri. I moved from England a little while ago, ermm..." I had run out of ideas. The teacher looked at me expectantly

“Go on” She said with a little nod of her head to prompt me. I had nothing, no idea’s left so I looked to the back where Jake, Aaron and Emma sat and hoped that they would help me.

Then Emma yells “She fancy's Scott."

I could feel the sea of red blush climb my face and I rushed to my seat but not before I could give Emma a glare. She found it absolutely hilarious and so did Jake and Aaron. I am so glad I have really supportive friends, note the sarcasm.

The teacher said I could sit down noticing how awkward I was. It was a relief to be able to sit at the back where no one could see me and I just hoped that everyone would forget Emma’s outburst. I was wrong!

Throughout the whole class people would stare at me and considering I was sat at the back is an amazing skill. I heard people whisper to each other trying to work out if I had a chance with him. Little did they know that we had been going out for about a month and lived in the same house.

English dragged on for ever but I was so glad to hear the bell and Emma grabbed my arm and dragged me to lunch. As I entered the room everyone fell silent and turned to face me.

“Jake” I whispered. “Why is everyone staring at me?”

“Because you are going out with Scott” He said in a duh tone of voice. People were staring because I was going out with Scott. That made no sense what so ever. I gave him a confused look.

“Oh yer you don’t know, right, well basically Scott has refused every girl that has asked him out. Also he is kinda the top of the school but not in a bad way. What I mean is that every girl wants to be with him and every guy wants to hang out with him.”

I just nodded. What had I gotten myself into? I could tell that the blondes were one of Scott’s reject-es and now they were going to make my life hell.

Emma dragged me to a table situated in the middle of the cafeteria.  Scott was already seated and he tapped the seat next to him. Happy to oblige I sat down and forgot about all of the people staring at me. Scott pushed his tray towards me.

“Help yourself.” He said

“No its ok I will go and get something”

“No this is for us to share do you really think I was going to eat that much?” He looked at the mountain of food piled high on his tray.
