The First Supper

As we stepped out of the forest, I felt the sand on my feet and I grabbed Neteyams hand without even thinking about it. He returned the gesture and held my hand as well.

Navi started to look in my direction, Neteyam tried to guide me to where I assume his family would be sitting. The chief noticed everyones reaction to me coming out of the forest and came over. Standing there with the chief by one side and Neteyam by the other I felt safe but everyones starring at me was unsettling.

"This is the girl that had lived in the forest, yes, she is human, but she respects Eywa and her land" The chief yelled so everyone could hear. "I welcomed her to our clan as a way to show peace, I expect you guys to do the same." The chief ended his statement looking at me with a smile, I replied with a smile and nod as a way to show respect.

"So much for making it less obvious" I snickered to Neteyam.

Neteyam walked me over to where his family was sitting and sat me down my what I assumed to be his little sister.

"HI! My name is Tuk," She said pointing at her self full of joy, " this is Kiri," point to the other girl, "You already know my dad, Lo'ak and Neteyam, but this is my mom Neytiri," Tuk said pointing at the older lady. She on the other hand was not full of joy. She seemed bothered that I was here, if I were her, I would too.

"Hey, y/n, how are you holding up?" Jake asked, "I'm a little nervous, I did not want to intrude but your sons are very stubborn." I responded back causing Jake to laugh.

we continued to eat and I was laughing with Tuk and Kiri when I saw their mom giving me a side eye.

"Your hair is so pretty, and so are you eyes," Tuk was saying, "Can i touch your hair?" She asked and I told her "go for it." Tuk squeeled in joy and begun braiding it and playing with it. I have light brown hair with a portion of my hair black on the back of my neck. I'm not sure why but its alwasys been like that

I leaned over to Neteyam and spoke soft enough for him to only hear, "I dont think you mom likes me, maybe I should have waited this feels like too much,"

"None sense," He spoke looking at his mom noticing the side eyes she was giving me, "It'll just take time, I'll talk to her" He nodded at me then looked over to Tuk playing with me hair, "Tuk, stop" he told his sister as I could feel her looking at my darker hair and she looked disappointed.

"its okay Neteyam, I told her she could," I responded back, she was such a sweet girl. She quickly went back to playing with it.

"Guys come here," Tuk stated causing the sully family to look with curiosity.

Everyone started looking at my hair including the parents and I heard Kiri say, "Thats so cool, that's right where youd have a queue if you were one of us,"

I let out a chuckle feeling embarressed that everyone was looking at my hair, should I say something? "I'm not sure why its like that," I randomly stated, "I figured my hair was just bleached on the top by the sun."

"Maybe," Neteyam started then Tuk cut in, "It's a circle of darker hair so I don't think it could be that," Tuk turned to her mom, "Maybe Eywa marked her so we could find her mommy,"

Neytiri looked down at her and smiled, "Leave the poor girl alone, lets finish dinner." everyone went back to sitting and eating.

"You should let me braid your hair," Kiri said, "Maybe mom and I could tag team your hair" Kiri laughed

"Oh, I couldn't ask that, I'm sure you guys have many more things to do." I said smiling at her, "Well it's a good thing you did not ask, she did," Neteyam told me looking at me. Something about him and just me want to crumble into a little ball. "Thats completly up to you guys" i Answered back with a smile.

"We could do it tomorrow!" Tuk said as her and everyone got done with their food.

"If that's okay with your mom," I stated looking at her for a second, "PLEASEEEEE mom," Tuk asked, "That'll be fine if you two would like to braid her hair," Neytiri said throwing herself out of the loop. She got up to clean the area. "I'll talk to her tonight," both Neteyam and Jake said, "She's not used to humans respecting the land," jake stated.

"Hey, I get it, I hate other humans too for what they did," I said seeing Neytiris head turn to the side showing she was listening. "I've got to get back," I said lifting up my oxygen, "but thank you for inviting me." i finished and turned to Neteyam and lightly grabbed his hand to show my thanks.

As I got up to walk back to the forest Tuk ran behind me and gave me a hug, "Don't forget to come by tomorrow," she said, "I won't, I cant weight" I told her hugging her back and giving her a warm smile as she let go, what a sweet soul is all I could think.

I got back to the lab and took off my mask. I guess that wasn't so bad, no body tried to chop me up so I guess that's got to count for something. But if looks could kill, Neytiri would have killed me the second I sat down. I hope Jake and Neteyam, maybe even Lo'ak could help out my situation. I don't want to be on the bad side of anyone here. This is their home, and I'm an alien.
