You were never really close, but saying goodbye every time he thought he found the one of his life. Only to come to you and demand sex from you, because the other one didn't give him what he wanted. Even when the others gave him all that he wanted...

... another knock would be heard at your door, "Evening, Miss Oleander."

You nodded, "Evening, Mr Joestar," you said, the man was just... a distant memory now, you didn't feel anything towards this man, and yet, he made you feel something. You were never a person of many emotions, but he sparked up something inside you many years ago.

You were only kids, and yet... He sparked up a little flame which your parents had long put out when you were 10, saying you will never marry and that you cursed their lives to be as such. You were told you were a mistake since you were born, and since it hit very close to your heart, you were forced to push down your own feelings.

Given the choice, you were curious enough to meet Dio, you went to the same school, and he wanted to get to know you. You were a cold person, and he seemed like more than a perfect match for you.

You opened the door wider and gestured for Dio to come in. He walked into your living room, taking in the bookshelves lining the walls and the antique furniture scattered throughout the room. You noticed that he had a weary look in his eyes, and you knew that he was here for comfort once again.

"Can I get you something to drink, Dio?" you asked as you made your way to the kitchen.

"A glass of water, please," he replied, sinking into one of the armchairs.

You returned with the water and sat across from him on the sofa. The silence stretched on for a moment before Dio spoke.

"I don't know what to do anymore, Y/n. My marriages keep failing, and I can't seem to make anything work."

You listened as he spilled out his troubles, his voice tinged with frustration and bitterness. You knew that he had always been a womanizer, but it seemed like each time he came to you, he was more broken than the last.

"I'm sorry, Dio," you said softly, unsure of what else to say.

He looked up at you, and for a moment, you saw a glimpse of the boy you had known all those years ago. The boy who had sparked something inside you.

"Remember when we were kids, Y/n? You were always so distant, but I wanted to get to know you. And I did, but it feels like I lost you somewhere along the way."

You didn't know what to say to that. It was true that you and Dio had been close once, but that was a lifetime ago.

"I'm sorry, Dio," you repeated. "I'm not the same person I was back then."

He let out a heavy sigh. "I know. But you're still the only one who understands me."

You wanted to tell him that he needed to change his ways, that he couldn't keep treating women the way he did, but you knew it would fall on deaf ears. Dio had always been stubborn.

The two of you sat in silence for a while longer, lost in your own thoughts. You couldn't help but think back to your childhood, when Dio had been the only one to show you kindness.

But that was all in the past now, and you couldn't change the way things had turned out.

"I should go," Dio said, standing up. "Thanks for listening, Y/n."

You nodded, watching as he made his way out the door. You knew that he would be back, that he would continue to come to you for comfort each time his marriages failed.

And you would continue to listen, because even though you were a cold person, you couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy for Dio. He was lost, just like you had been all those years ago.

As Dio turned to leave, you suddenly found yourself calling out to him.

"Dio, wait," you said, standing up from the sofa. "Why don't you stay the night?"

He turned to face you, surprised by your invitation. "Are you sure? I don't want to impose."

"You're not imposing," you said firmly. "I don't want you to be alone tonight."

Dio hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay. Thank you, Y/n."

You led him to the guest bedroom, offering him a change of clothes and making sure he had everything he needed before leaving him to rest.

As you made your way back to your own bedroom, you couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. It felt like you and Dio were kids again, staying up late and talking about everything and nothing.

But as you climbed into bed, you knew that things were different now. You couldn't change the past, and you couldn't change the fact that you and Dio had grown apart.

But for tonight, you would be there for him, because even though you were a cold person, you still had a heart.

The night was quiet, the only sounds coming from the occasional creak of the floorboards as Dio shifted in his sleep. You lay in your own bed, staring up at the ceiling as you listened to the rhythmic breathing of the man in the next room.

You couldn't help but think about the past, about the memories you and Dio had shared as children. It felt like a lifetime ago, and yet, as you listened to him sleep, it felt like no time had passed at all.

In his own room, Dio was lost in his thoughts. He couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort being in Y/n's home, surrounded by the familiar furnishings of her childhood. He couldn't remember the last time he had felt this at peace.

As the night wore on, both of you drifted in and out of sleep, caught in the limbo between the past and the present.

The morning arrived all too soon, the sun casting a warm glow across the room. You sat up in bed, stretching your limbs as you took a deep breath. You knew that Dio would be leaving soon, but you couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy at the thought.

In his own room, Dio was already up, dressed and ready to leave. He made his way to the guest bedroom, where you were waiting for him.

"Thank you for last night, Y/n," he said, a faint smile on his lips. "I really appreciate it."

You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat. "Take care, Dio. And try to... treat your partners with more respect."

He gave you a wry smile. "I'll try my best."

"You better... as this better be the last goodbye I have to go through with you."

With that, he turned and made his way out of your home, leaving you to stand alone in the hallway.

As you watched him go, you couldn't help but wonder what the future held for the both of you. It was a bittersweet thought, but one that you knew you couldn't ignore.

You made your way back to your own room, taking one last look around before closing the door behind you. The room felt empty now, devoid of the warmth that had been there the night before.

But as you took a deep breath and settled back into bed... you knew that you would always have the memories of that one night, of the time when Dio Joestar had come to you for comfort, and you had opened your heart to him.
