Maya was ready for the All Valley, but there were tons of steps she had to take to get there. Her mom met with one of the medics that would be there that day, telling her all about Maya's situation. The medic told Maya's mom that Maya really shouldn't be doing it, but the medic agreed to watch out for her.

After every match, Maya would have to look her mom straight in the eyes and nod up and down if she was okay and if she wasn't then she'd shake her head from side to side. Maya took all of her meds and she would have to stay very hydrated. Maya agreed to all the terms she had to, just so she could defeat Cobra Kai.

"And finally...this dojo is making their All Valley debut, though you'll recognize a few familiar faces. Every year, a new dojo rises up the ranks. Does this newcomer have what it takes to win it all? Please welcome Eagle Fang Karate, led by Sensei Johnny Lawrence and defending champion Miguel Diaz!" Maya and the rest of the Eagle Fangs ran through the smoke, which gave their entrance a dramatic effect, lining up. "At the end of the day, only one of these dojos can be crowned Grand Champion. Welcome to the 51st annual All Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament! It's karate time." Maya smiled, she was ready.

Unfortunately, Maya wouldn't be showcasing any of her skills, her mom refused to let her do that. Maya could watch everyone else though. She was secretly rooting for Hawk to win the guy's division, but she frowned when he didn't hit the last board on his skills presentation.

After the skills division, Eagle Fang was in sixth place. After Devon did the math, she revealed that they needed to win as many qualification rounds as possible. Maya was ready, she had her Cobra Kai experience, her Miyagi Do experience, and her Eagle Fang experience. She could win this.

Maya didn't know where Carrie Underwood came from, or why she was there, but her song was a good inspiration for the matches. So far, Maya had won all of them, and only some of her contestants could land hits on her. Hawk watched from afar, wondering if she was watching him as well, she was plowing through her opponents. Hawk hadn't seen her practice since she'd fought against him, and she had gotten even better since then.

"All right, folks. We've witnessed some great fighting today. But you ain't seen nothing yet. Because we have arrived at the quarterfinals! Which means things are about to get intense. Of the eight boys and eight girls on this stage, one of each will be named the All-Valley champion. And then we'll tally all the points to determine which dojo has earned the title of Grand Champion. And since the points get higher in each round...it's still any dojo's game! So you keep your eyes on this here blue mat because we are just getting started!" Maya stood proudly, she hadn't once felt like her lungs were collapsing and she'd done a lot more karate than she usually did. She was in the quarterfinals, and she'd never been to the All Valley before. She wanted to win this. She had to win this.

Maya was doing great, and so was Devon, until Devon went up against Tory. Devon lost, Maya knew she would. Tory had been practicing way longer than Devon had.

"So what's our odds of winning?" Johnny asked her, Maya could practically see the gears in Devon's head moving at top speed.

"If Miguel goes to the finals and wins then technically we have a chance, but if Maya and Miguel win then we have a definite chance." Maya glanced up at Miguel, his mind seemed to be on other matters.

"Maya, the girl's trophy is up to you to win." Maya nodded, she was the last girl, the only one who could win that section for them. "Can you do that for me?"

"Yes, Sensei." Maya would do anything for Johnny. Anything for her 'father'.

Maya watched Demetri win again, she smiled, her eyes soon trailing to the line of Miyagi Dos. She saw Kyler talking to Hawk, and then Kyler placed his finger on his lip and walked away. Maya knew Hawk was probably anxious to go against Kyler, she sighed, looking at Johnny.

"Sensei?" He looked her way. "Can I go talk to someone?" Johnny raised an eyebrow but nodded despite his curiosity.

"Ignore him, Hawk, he's always been an ass, at least you aren't anymore." Hawk glanced away from Maya, had she really seen Kyler making fun of him?

"I don't know who I am these days." Maya felt a small frown spread across her face.

"You're not defined by your haircut, Hawk. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved it. I was really loving the purple actually. But I liked you for your nerdy rants and your confidence." Maya smiled, realizing she was ranting, Hawk loved seeing Maya smile. Especially since she was smiling and talking about him.

"Yeah, well, I, uh, lost my confidence. So..." Maya sighed, slowly walking towards him. Maya put her hand on the side of Hawk's neck, and pressed her lips against his, she felt her stomach flutter. She pulled away, both of them smiling.

"I hope you find it, and good luck, Eli." Maya smiled and walked back to the Eagle Fangs, Hawk felt as if he were on cloud 9. Eli. She said, Eli. Even better than that, she kissed him. Maya still liked him.

Robby felt anger course through his veins, his jaw clenching tight. Maya kissed Hawk. His Maya. Maya just told him the other night that they weren't dating. Had Maya still liked him the whole time? Robby wanted to beat the shit out of Hawk, he didn't want to wait for the stupid match.

Maya watched intently from the sidelines as Eli fought Kyler. She wasn't surprised when he won, but she still cheered. Hawk heard her cheers, he smiled as he was announced the winner of that round. Maya just hoped she would go up against Sam. Maya couldn't wait for her match until she watched Kenny and Robby go against each other and then she watched as Robby kicked Kenny right in the face. Kenny ran away off the mat, and Maya ran after him.

"Kenny." Maya sat beside him quickly in the boy's locker room, his nose bleeding.

"Leave me alone!" He yelled, pushing her away. Kenny immediately regretted it, but Maya didn't say anything. She understood. Kenny was upset, she would've been upset too. Maya stood slowly.

"I'll be right back." Kenny nodded, holding his nose, when Maya came back she brought her backpack.

"What's that for?" Maya didn't answer, she just wiped Kenny's nose off and handed him a tissue to shove in his nose.

"You would've won if you didn't have to go against Robby, he's been doing this longer than you. With more practice, you could win even against him." Kenny smiled a bit, as Maya pulled something from her backpack. "I know you like showing off your Cobra Kai merch," Maya handed Kenny a bracelet that had the Cobra Kai logo in the middle, "I made this when I was still in Cobra Kai, but I want you to have it." Kenny took it, sliding it on his wrist.

Maya knew she'd be gone soon, but she didn't want to leave Kenny with nothing. She knew he, and many others would feel betrayed that she hadn't told them about her cancer diagnosis but they'd feel worse if they had nothing from her.

"I hope you win, Maya." Maya smiled, squeezing Kenny's shoulder.

"Thanks, Kenny." Maya came back from the boy's dressing room just in time to see Miguel and Hawk's match. Neither of them had scored a point, but just as Miguel spun for a kick, Maya heard a sort of crackle. Miguel fell to the floor, holding his back. "Miggy!" Maya rushed to his side. This couldn't be happening, this couldn't happen again.
