i have a stupid interview today, during the off season, who the hell scheduled that?

they ask the same dumb questions that i get ask in very interview.

the interviewer said it would be 15 minutes tops, it's basically just something for the fans on the devils app.

we're hitting the 14 mark and im waiting for her to say something along the lines of 'i can hit the end call button."

"okay, weve got one final question for you."

"alright." i said.

"so jack whos this mystery girl?"

i tried hiding my smile, "who?"

"dont hide that smile boy." they laughed.

"theres not much to tell you guys right now." i said.

"well we can tell you somethings." he said.

"no." i nervously laughed.

"oh we can jack. liv parker, does that sound familiar?" he asked.

"could be."

"waylyn parkers sister?"

"could be." i said again.

"okay jack, thanks for talking to us about your off season plans & training. we'll see you at training camp."

"sweet, im looking forward to it." i said. "bye guys."

"bye."

i quickly ended the call and closed my laptop.

"waste of my time." i said to myself.

i left my dads office at my parents home, when my mom called my name.

"yeah mom?"

"come in here & tell me about massachusetts." she said.

i chuckled & walked into the kitchen.

she smiled at me, "sit down boy."

i sat on the countertop while she made dinner.

"whats up?"

"you heard me, tell me about massachusetts."

"what do you want to know?" i tried for the topic not be that i went to see liv.

she looked at me & tilted her head, "tell me about her."

i smiled and looked at my lap.

"you need to meet her."

"have you met her family?" she asked.

"yeah."

"when?"

"uhm, her names liv-"

"i like that." she smiled.

"she graduated from university of north carolina chapel hill in may & i went to her graduation."

"and im just now finding out about her?"

"how did you know that i went to see a girl in the first place?" i asked.

"because when you look at your phone you're always smiling! ive watched it happen all day and you get here at 9am."

"i really like her mom." i smiled.

"so tell me more."

"her brother plays for the canes. her sister & her own a shop in massachusetts." i said.

"whos he brother?" she asked.

"her brother is waylyn parker & her sister is kellyn parker, they're triplets."
