When she emerged from the fiery shadows around her body, she was bonded to the Head Captain. She never thought that would ever happen.

"Is something going on?" Lianna looked to the one she was temporarily bonded with.

"There is something you must know, something I was told to tell you the day before your clan was killed..." He stood there, looking up at his dragon.

"What do you mean?" Lianna tilted her head, confused.

"There are many in the soul society that doubt you, some that resent you.. Your father told me to tell you that you have an ability that no one thought could exist, one they never thought you would obtain. You are an extraordinary child that had both shikai and bankai at a very young age, your bankai having many forms. I was entrusted with this message: To the last of the clan, the last dragon, the last shadow, know that there will be many who will be after you to get your power. You are a weapon that can be stolen and used against your home.." The Head Captain took a moment to pull a letter from his shihakushō. He put it in the pouch on Lianna's side, patting it anxiously.

Out of nowhere, a cold wind blew. It was the coldest ever, the sky darkened, blocking out the sun. The land was dimly lit, as though it had become an ice-land. Even the fire on Lianna's body had gone out. She changed into her normal dragon form, then looked to the H.C.

"I'm going to see what happened, and see if I can help," She turned and flew away, not looking back. Everything in the soul society was covered in a strange white mist, the air chilled. She landed right in between squads 6 and 10 barracks, looking around to see if anyone was there. From one side, Rangiku ran into her. From the other side, it was Renji.

"Who the hell- Oh, Lianna. Rangiku?" Renji looked around Lianna, seeing Rangiku shivering on the other side.

"W-why is it s-so damn cold?" Rangiku huddled up against Lianna, and Renji rolled his eyes.

"Do either of you know where your squads are? Your captains?" Lianna had an idea of how to help, but she also had something she wanted to do.

"I think Captain Kuchiki went to gather up squad 6," Renji shivered a bit as well.

"Same w-with Captain Hitsugaya," Rangiku replied, shivering even worse.

"I don't know what could have happened here, but I know something that MIGHT keep everybody warm," Lianna let Renji and Rangiku climb on, then she flew over to the clearing she used to visit and train in.

"If we do some tree clearing, we might be able to fit everybody..." Lianna looked around, then let her riders off and they got to work. After only an hour, the clearing doubled in size, then doubled again after another hour.

"Alright, this is good. I need you two to go and gather all the squads, try to get the Head Captain as well. Tell them that this place is safe," Lianna told them what to do and they listened, leaving to go gather the squads. Lianna closed her eyes, shadows from everywhere came together and formed a shadow-dome that covered the entire clearing. Just enough to fit everyone and then some. Not even 40 minutes passed as people began to enter the shadow-dome, each squad led by their captain. They all went to a different area, keeping everything organized. Some backed away from Lianna, refusing to go near her since she was a dragon. Eventually, the Head Captain and his squad entered, taking up the front space.

Lianna changed back into a soul reaper, keeping up the shadow dome as she did so. Not wanting to cause any issues, she went to a corner and sat down, pulling out the letter and opening it. All her life, she was only finding more questions and almost no answers. Lianna read the letter:

"Lianna Shadisuke, I don't know when this letter will reach you, but know that we are watching over you. You must have some friends by now, ones you can trust. They must be good ones, ones that will be able to maintain a secret if needed. You must know this, that you have an ability nobody ever though existed, and we never thought you'd be the one to get it. You know that you were the strongest member of our clan at the time, and you are probably one of the strongest soul reapers in the soul society. With your shikai and three bankai forms, and the secret ability you have been told about, you are a weapon which must be protected..."

Lianna paused, processing what she just read. Then she continued.

"This ability you hold... It is called Hikai, a form that was dismissed by our clan hundreds of years ago, but it was created by the zanpakutō creator. As far as we know, it can only be used by those who hold both the dragon and the shadow. And you, Lianna, are the last of both. You'll have to use your zanpakutō do discover your form of Hikai. Now, I must leave you. This was the last clue for you to discover your true potential, so go after it. Farewell, my daughter."

Lianna held the letter against her chest, eyes watering. She folded it up and put it away, standing up. Toshiro approached her.

"Alright, what's the plan?"
