Stef's: POV
Here l am standing at the altar waiting for Lena to arrive and l see Grace and Hope dressed up in there pretty flower dresses walking down the aisle sprinkling rose petals on to the ground with Francesca walking beside in a lavender sundress. Margaret who was sitting in the front row, we wanted a small ceremony with just our family. I remember the first time when we got married we had a big wedding with our family and friends who attended, it seems like only yesterday when I proposed to Lena on the beach while we were on vacation in the Hamptons. We had been dating for three years, l didn't think l couldn't love someone like Lena. She was my everything of course we had our share of ups and downs together but l wouldn't trade for nothing in this world, for a wedding present l decided to have our first home built from the ground up
Lena and I designed the layout we envision our dream home. Eight years later we're still going strong, that woman has seen me at my worst,
It's funny how we met we'll just say we didn't hit it off right away. She thought I was stalking her, Lena would tell you a completely different version of our love story. I hear the music begin playing l'm glad the weather held up nicely, l see Lena walking down the aisle with her dad arm and arm. She's sporting the same color dress the girls were wearing but hers was longer with string beans straps, her hair was up out of her face
Holding a bouquet of purple Lillie's
When she reached the altar l stepped forward and took her hand. She looked at me and smiled, l winked my eye. The woman who was marrying us, took her place in the middle of the floor. My mind drifts back eight years ago, l listen to officiate saying a few words. I couldn't help block out her voice, l wanted to hurry to get the best part when we exchange our vows to each other. I heard Lena's words so clearly, the way she expressed her love to me brought tears to my eyes
She slipped the princess cut white gold band on my finger. Now it's was my turn to speak, today my darling Lena you have made me a better person as l stand here before you
I promise to love, always put you first
I promise to be there when you need a listening ear, l promise to hold you when your son. My love for you has gotten stronger over the years, you have blessed me with three beautiful princesses who l always will protect
You manger to make a mother something l wanted for years but God saw fit to shine his love down on us and gave us the desire to become parents, even though it didn't happen right away. You girls calm through it all, your faith never wavered while I was filled with uncertainty when you just had Grace and Hope, l watched you held them in your arms and the way you bonded with each of them. I knew heaven was smiling down on me, you are an amazing mother wife daughter and friend last but not least. I seen you connect with children at the group home once I watched you inactive with Francesca it blew me, that's when I knew motherhood was your calling in life it's you they go to when there sick or want storytime, it seems to me they come to me when their in trouble with you Stef put the ring on Lena's finger. She wipes the tears her wife's eyes, l announced you wife and wife
You may kiss your bride. Stef moved in and kissed Lena on the lips, they decided to keep it PG 13 for the youngers, Margaret and Stewart stood up and clapped for the happy couple
It was a gorgeous wedding for a Saturday. The girls came up and hugged us both, now it was time to go eat and maybe some dancing. Later on some adult activities Lena said in my ear, that sent chills down my spine.
