Lena's:POV
Stef and I have just entered the banquet hall hand in hand everyone was sitting down having dinner. a few people turned their heads when they saw us enter the fellowship hall, everyone stood up onto there feet and they all clapped their hands
I smiled wide as the flash went off on the camera. We walked down the aisle to our table that was up on the stage where my family gave me hugs and kisses, dad handed me a Bouquet of roses and kissed me on the cheek. Mama gave me a big hug
My daughters did the same thing, Stef pulled out my chair so l could sit down
She sat beside me, l took a sip of champagne. Stef begins eating her salad
I was too nervous to put anything in my stomach because I had to give my speech
Plus I was still on the liquid diet from my lung infection, luckily Stef included soup to the menu. Which was broccoli potato, one of the servers brought me a hot bowl of soup, l thanked Chris one of Stef's staff
I laid a napkin across my lap and slowly started eating, the girls were on their best behavior. They were all dressed up, with the clothes l put out before l left the house earlier, the room was filled with a few familiar faces l haven't seen in a long time

Ashley and Annie, along with my new team from new horizon group home came out. I wonder who is the MC for the evening Stef asks me in my ear, that's when I saw Sasha come up on the stage. Good evening everyone, my name is Sasha and l work at new Haven children's home under the direction of Lena Foster Adams l stand here
On behalf of the rest of my colleagues. Lena has dedicated her life to these children who come from all walks of life. I've worked for her for the past six years, and let me tell ya
Lena has done amazing things at new Haven. There's over twenty seven children
Who reside there, she took her hard money
Because she was tired of seeing these kids fall through the cracks of the system, she wanted them to give a voice. Some of our children come to us that suffer from all types of abuse, Lena has made her mission to make sure they don't go into abusive homes once they leave. All applicants are fully screen, one thing that I can say about Lena she would do anything for these children. That's why she's decided to open up another group home called new horizon
She wants all these children to receive all love and support they had before, once you step through the doors of her establishment
You're treated like family. So would please stand to your feet, and help me welcome the founder and CEO new Haven children's home and new horizon Lena Elizabeth Foster Adams. I stood up and walked over to the stage, l hugged Sasha. Thank you all for coming out this evening, can we give Sasha another round of applause Lena said
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my amazing wife who has stood by me. The food you were eating came from her very owned restaurant, the reason why I chose to open a group home, l was tired of injustice and seeing these children slip through the cracks of the system and put into these homes only to be mistreated
I knew there was something I needed to do
So l decided to open up a group home we're they would receive the property love and affection under my guidance, I would also like to thank both of my parents for bestowing in me love and kindness. That's why l am the woman today, and to three beautiful daughters who are my light of my life. Lena says to the audience as she ends her speech, she receives another standing ovation from the crowd.
