Lena's: POV
It was a bright and sunny day outside
I felt the wind blow through my long curly hair. As I'm walking l hear someone talking to me, but l can't make out whose voice it was. I listened to their pleads begging me to wake up, it's then l realized it was Stef's voice. I blinked twice until my eyes opened up, l turned staring right into her beautiful blue eyes that captured my heart. Then l take in my new surroundings, the last thing
I remembered l was home in my own bed
Trying to fight this awful flu l picked up
My body ached all over like l was ran over
By a truck or something. I felt something sticky on my chest, then l heard beeping sounds. Baby it's okay just relax you're in the hospital, you were rushed here a week ago cause you were severely sick with the flu. And the doctor said you had an extremely high fever when you were brought in, they did a bunch of tests on you
Later they found out you developed a lung infection from being sick. They have been giving you some strong antibiotics to treat
The infections, the medicine you were given had a great deal of side effects
That's why you've been sleeping so long
The doctor thought it was best that you stay asleep as long as possible so your body could heal property Stef explains everything to me in great detail l take in all she's telling me that transpired this past week. My throat feels dry almost like cotton
I look over at the pitcher on the nightstand
Stef gets up from the chair and pours some water in a small plastic cup l just smile a little, she cranks the bed up some so l'm sitting up a bit. I take small sips, the coldness felt good going down my throat
I didn't realize how thirsty l was, does that feel better babe she asks me, l nod my head
Scared to speak at the moment. Then a woman enters my room pushing a cart
Good your awake l am here to check your vitals she says to me. I extend my arm out for her to take my blood pressure, l keep my eyes focus on Stef who's holding my hand, once she finishes up then she takes my temperature, 99.3 she said as the nurse writes down all the information in my chart. The doctor is making her rounds this morning she'll be in shortly to do a quick routine exam she might wanna do another x-rays of your lungs to make sure your airways are clear. I do have to take some blood work, cause your white count was down a bit from being sick. She informs me
I cleared my throat, you don't have to talk to me like a child l can comprehend quite well. I say in raspy tone and Stef tries to hide her smirk, cause she knows how l am when it comes to certain people. Very well
