Stef's: POV
I'm downstairs cleaning up the house before Lena comes home I wanted everything done when she arrives home from her trip to LA. The girls were in the basement watching the princess and the frog, we had a wonderful breakfast and then I gave them a bath and put on their clothes. I did all the laundry and ordered the groceries for the month that should be due any minute, Lena called me before she got on the expressway we talked for a little bit. Lena told me she needed to make a stop before coming home, l have the front door open to let some cool air. I saw the mail man in the distance, l went back to vacuuming the living room floor. The door bell rings, Stef turns off the vacuum to go answer the door. Good morning Stef
I have your mail here he says as hands me a handful of mail, l thanked him and watched George head back to his truck and hopped in behind the wheel then drove off
I sort through the mail. One particular letter catches my eye, and it's from the attorney's office it has Lena's name on it
I wish my wife was here so we could share this moment together. We've been waiting this check to come, now that it's finally here
I set it down in the mail slot, the rest is junk mail. Modern teen magazine for Francesca
Victoria secret catalogue, restaurant today which is mine. Hope and Grace's america girl book, l don't dare open up Lena's letter without consent. She never told how much the settlement was for, l guess it slipped her mind. She'll probably deposit it in the bank and let it clear for 7 to 10 days until she decides what to do with it, we share everything. Lena might put some in the girls college fund, catch up on some bills
She's good with handling the finances,
I go back to finish up the rest of the housework. I clean out the refrigerator
Take out all the out dated items and put in the trash can, l wipe down the inside shelves with bleach lemon scent. I always make sure to put rubber gloves on, the dogs were out in yard running around while I straightened up. All the clothes have been folded and put away, Grace helped me when it came to sorting out the socks
I looked out the kitchen window to check on snowy and chewy. I'm glad we have a fence in yard, it's almost time for their daily walk.
