morning meeting

Lena's: POV
I walked into the conference room and everyone was sitting at the table.
I appreciate all of you taking time out of your busy schedule to attend this meeting
I won't hold you long, as some of you might not know. I have decided to open up second group home about forty five minutes away
I have met with the inspector from the city who recently came out to inspect the home
On my way here l received a telephone call from the inspector informing me that the house met all the requirements so you'll be happy to know it passed, new horizons will be fully open until September 27, cause there's a lot of work to be done such as furnishing the house also I will be hiring a whole new staff. When l first decided to open up a group home, l had just recently quit my job as a child advocate worker
Some of the things I saw while working in the field broke my heart. So I decided
That day l wanted to help children who were broken down by the system, there are so many kids out there in the foster care system that were taken in only to be abused physically sexually and emotionally, l wanted to be that voice for them when they couldn't speak. Since I had a degree in psychology and social work it was easy for me to open up a group home, so l went and took all the appropriate classes needed then I took my proposal to the board and told them what I was planning on doing
They looked over my business plan by the end of that meeting they gave me the green light. I did a lot of research to find a suitable location, let me tell you it was a lot of hard work trying to find a house big enough to fit at least twenty five children
So once I found the house I liked. I called the city inspectors and gave them all the details about the house, I had one week to get the house cleaned up and ready for the inspection cause they gave me one week to get everything ready. I used money out of my own pocket, even though the board offered to give me money towards the building but I turned it down cause l have always been an independent person. I did let them help me get donations from organizations, after everything went through. I began looking for a business partner, somebody who had the same interest as me. I held several interviews to find the perfect candidate that had the qualifications, when I found that person
I had my lawyer draw up the contracts
This person was in agreement with everything we discussed. She only put in twenty percent, l am the sole proprietor on both properties. Yesterday it was brought to my attention Shannon wasn't on board with my decision about the new location
Only to find out later she had other plans
Her plan was to bring in another person
Without my consent, move them in my office. One thing about me l am a woman of my word, she never mentioned anything to me about bringing someone, so l'm asking all of you here today. Should Shannon step down from her position as partner or should she be allowed to stay at new Haven
I feel it's disrespectful to go behind the person's back you're in business with and be sneaky, so I want everyone to take a moment to collect yourselves and cast your vote whether or not Shannon stays on as partner or should she step down from her position and become a regular employee
I'm gonna go step away for just a few minutes and I will be back in ten minutes
Lena said as she leaves the conference room. People couldn't believe what they heard Lena reveal, Shannon was embarrassed she was called out in front of everyone on the board including her co-workers. She's trying to figure out how word got out of her plans of taking over new haven children's home and become director, Shannon follows behind Lena
