We just returned back to the cottage after taking Grace to the emergency room cause her temperature rose back up again. Luckily we didn't have to wait to long
Grace's body wasn't responding to the children's Motrin that l gave her over several hours ago. So where sitting in the examing room waiting for the doctor to come in, Grace is wrapped up in my arms
And Stef is right beside me looking at the TV on the wall. Mommy l'm thirsty Grace says in a horse voice, baby mommas gonna go down to the vending machine to get you some apple juice alright Lena said as she kissed Grace on the head. Stef gets up and exits the room. The doctor enters the room
What's brought in this morning the woman asks, my daughter woke up with a sore throat and a high fever, l've given Grace some medicine in hopes of bringing her temperature down but it kept going up Lena explains. Grace can you hop up on the table so l can do a quick check Dr. Brice
Grace climbs out of my arms and on to the bed. Dr. Brice looks inside Grace's ears then she listens to her lungs and looks at Grace's throat. Lena watches everything the woman does to her baby girl, Mrs. Foster Adams Grace has an upper respiratory infection so that's why her body isn't responding to any of the medication you've given her, so l'm gonna prescribe amoxicillin and penicillin for her ear infection. You'll have to give it Grace every four to six hours, she needs to take both for ten days. Make sure Grace drinks plenty of liquids, she might not have much of an appetite. You need to follow up with her doctor to make sure all the infection is cleared up, l've seen this happen in children Grace's age here's the prescription
Dr. Brice hands me. Thank you so much for seeing us Lena tells the older woman, Grace gets off the bed and walks back over to me
I help Grace put on her hat and coat. I pick Grace up and we leave the room, we see Stef coming down the hall and explained what Dr. Brice said what was wrong with our daughter, Grace holds her arms out for Stef. When Lena goes to use the ladies room, angel you feeling a little better asks Grace. My throat feels scratchy Grace responds, Stef opens the bottle of juice
Grace takes a few sips. Lena comes back
We walk towards the automatic doors
Then l unlock the car door and put Grace in her booster seat, Lena gets in on the passenger side of the vehicle starts up the ignition for me while l got Grace straight
