Lena's : POV
I'm so glad to be going home to my wife and children. My mom is picking me up while Stef's home with Hope and Grace, francessa is at school. I spent two weeks in the intensive care unit, the doctor still has me antibiotics. I lost so much weight while l was sick with the flu and lung infection l could barely swallow anything except water all my food had to be clear liquids
I made an appointment with the lung specialist to make sure my lung was healing correctly. I had to postpone the grand opening for the new group home new horizons, l put it off until next month
Luckily my new staff was understanding that getting sick was beyond my control
I finish packing up my bag to head home
Hopefully l would never have to see this hospital again. I know Stef was scared to death about losing me to this God awful flu that almost took my life, l have so much to look for. A supportive family who was there, l spoke to my babies they were super excited to hear l was being released from the hospital. I felt bad they couldn't come up and visit me, this was no place l wanted them to come see me with a bunch of tubes
All over. My heart couldn't take the looks on their faces. It would be hard to explain that mommy was extremely sick and couldn't move around much, cause l was too weak, Stef had to give me a sponge bath
I hated that she saw me naked because my body wasn't what it looked like before the sickness over my frail thin body. Now l have Regain the weight l've lost, l don't even look like myself anymore. I'm sitting on the bed waiting on mama to come and get me, they gave me a new sleeve to put on my forearm from the nerve damage. Due to my physical assault that happened four months ago, l'm still receiving physical therapy. My physical therapist says l would get the feeling back cause there was too much extensive nerve damage to the nerves on the inside, l have come to terms with it but not fully. I never expected that l would be the victim of a horrible attack
Right there in my office, l haven't been back since the accident. All the children sent me cards,  from the new haven children's home. Hey there darling you bout ready to get out of this place and head home my mother said, yeah mama l'm ready to be out of here and sleep in my own bed again
These beds aren't comfortable on my back

Did all the grocery shopping for the next two months so you girls won't worry about any food in the house mom told me. Mama you didn't have to do that l appreciate everything you've done while l was in here getting better. As soon as this nurse comes in with my discharged paperwork we can head out, she should be done making her rounds. Lena States, whenever you're ready just say the word mama stated
I wonder what could be keeping this woman so long to come here with these forms, Lena replies. I heard somebody being released today Rachel says to me as she hands me some papers to sign, l applied my signature on the dotted lines and handed them back to her, l took my seat in the wheelchair mom grabs my bag. Rachel pushes me down towards the elevator
The doors open up and we all step inside taking the elevator down to the parking garage.
