Divided Teams

Here we go. The beginning of Volume 8, the second half of the 'Atlas Arc'. This is going to be continuing the heavy issues left off from the previous volume and adding more to it. Besides that, time to start the chapter.

*1st Person POV*

Ruby, Weiss and I were on an Atlas airship piloted by Grandma. We looked around until Ruby tugs on my cloak, pointing down below. I look to see her pointing at Oscar, who was sitting outside of a camp in the slums. The ship hovers close by, and Ruby slides the door open, waving at him.

Ruby: "Need a lift?"

Oscar saw us and relaxes, soon getting inside the ship as we made our way back.

Oscar: "I was stupid to think the general would listen. Every choice I've made was the wrong one, and now..."

Ruby: "We all did what we thought was best."

Azure: "We're just glad you're alright, Oscar." I place a hand on his shoulder and offered a comforting smile to him.

Below, Joanna peeked out at our ship from around a corner, and then steps out into the open and waves her arms at us. Maria looks down at her.

Maria: "Yeah, yeah, I see you." She lowers the ship to land, and she, Ruby, Weiss, Oscar and I soon hurry down a sidewalk towards Joanna, who ushers us into an alleyway.

Joanna: "Inside! Hurry!"

A camera drone comes hovering along, and just as it turns to look at Joanna, she shoots it down and then runs into the alley. We continued following her and we made it to a restaurant.

Inside the restaurant kitchen, May leaned over a map on the counter, speaking over a communication device. While she talks, me, Ruby, Weiss, Oscar, Maria and Joanna walked inside and head across the kitchen.

May: "I know, Sector 3 is going to need the most help. I'm sending backup your way right now. Fiona, do you copy? We need transport from Sector 3 to the crater."

Fiona: "Copy!"

In the dining area, Jaune, Nero, Vert, Rosa, Yang, Blake, Ren and Nora were sitting at tables while Penny and Pietro watched the news. The news network was displaying a "Fugitives" notice for Team RWBY, Team AVRN, Team JNR, Oscar, Maria, Penny and Pietro.

News: "--once heroes, are now fugitives on the run. Many in Mantle are left to wonder what the future will--"

As our group enters the room, Nora turns and stands from her chair, smiling. She approaches Oscar, who recoiled in fear, turning his head to the side, closing his eyes and putting his hands up to stop the tackle that he assumes is coming. Instead, Nora calmly walked over and hugs him, much to his surprise. He relaxes and hugs back, and Weiss, Ruby and I smile at the scene.

Blake: "When we heard you went off after Ironwood on your own, we..." She said in a shaky voice.

Nora lets go of Oscar and walks away.

Azure: "How did you end up down in the slums?"

Oscar: "It's a..." He sighs. "...long story. I get the feeling there's been a few of those tonight."

All of us looked at Penny, who looks down at her hands. Oscar's eyes widened slightly as he realized someone was missing from the group.

Oscar: "Where's Qrow?"

Ren, Blake, Yang, Nero, Vert and Rosa lower their gazes, and Jaune looks toward Blake and Yang before looking down as well.

Ruby: "We don't know. The last we heard he was with Robyn, but..."
