This one shot is set in an alternate universe where Tae and Jennie are singers but not in K-pop groups. Jennie Kim was a hopeless romantic all her life. She was surrounded by couples all the time. As she walks down the streets of Seoul on her way to the HYBE building to work on a new project, she sighs as she passes yet another couple holding hands and wearing matching clothes.

"I guess I should take this as a sign," Jennie says wistfully before pulling open the large glass doors of the music company.

Her thoughts about love had resurfaced when she had received a text from a producer asking if she would like to collaborate with a musician on a song. Jennie hesitated to accept the gig because she had mixed feelings about working with this musician. The reason?

He was her ex-boyfriend.

Kim Taehyung and Jennie had first met when his producer needed a female vocalist for an OST called "Sweet Night." They hit if off right away and after a celebratory dinner when the project was over, they were officially a couple. They dated for almost a year before Taehyung broke it off, explaining that his schedule was so busy he didn't have time to be in a relationship.

Jennie rides the elevator up to the seventh floor and wonders again why the producer picked her. She thinks to herself, Didn't he know about my history with Taehyung? Of course we kept our relationship a secret but then wouldn't Taehyung have protested? Maybe he didn't know I would be the female vocalist for this song. Or maybe...

"Don't be stupid, Jennie," she mutters as the doors open. "Taehyung wouldn't want to work with me again. It would be too awkward."

Since they broke up she had been feeling lonely and she wished she had a lover that could hold her. Many nights she cried in her room, missing Taehyung. She was so skeptical of love...

Yet, Jennie can't help and wonder if this is Cupid's way of bringing her and Taehyung back together after many months. She knows she shouldn't expect any romantic feelings to return when they meet again, but still she wants it more. She is open to the possibility of giving Cupid a second chance.

She pauses in front of the door to the recording studio, clears her throat, and tries to shake away her nervous feelings. When she musters enough courage, she pushes the door open and immediately locks eyes with Taehyung who is standing by a microphone. He looks like an anime character with his big dark eyes and golden ratio facial features. It takes her breath away and all the familiar feelings she had when they were dating come flooding back.

Taehyung's eyes light up, then he pauses and his reaction changes from "happy to see her" to "surprised to see her." He smiles and bows to her. "Jennie! It's good to see you. Are you working on this song with me?"

Jennie freezes. She momentarily forgets why she is there. Seeing Taehyung affects her more than she thought it would and she looks around the studio trying to collect her thoughts. The sight of the producer standing next to Taehyung reminds her that she was hired to record a song.

"Yes," Jennie replies, still staring at Taehyung blankly, then bowing slightly.

"Cool! I had no idea. This should be fun." Taehyung catches the producer making a confused face at his comment but ignores it. "How are you?"

"F-fine," Jennie stammers.

"I haven't seen you in a while. How's your music going?" Taehyung asks, taking a step toward her.
