☆ Lee Tae-Moon ☆

"

Love’s a prismatic fantasy.
I feel like I could be a whole new person.
My past’s a revolving door that leads to you.
The night’s a prismatic fantasy.
Shining rainbows on the two of us.
I’m Dancin’ in the arms of someone new now..."

The upbeat and sweet song by Nakahara Meiko played loudly in Tae-Moon's ears. The singer's vocals and words swam lazily around his head, almost echoing. His eyes are narrowed in a concentrated gaze; however, his face holds an expression of peace. A slight bead of sweat rolls down his face while his cheeks became a pink color and his heart beat sped up. The teen skillfully moved his arms, his fingers gripped tightly onto the object he's holding.

The room's air became humid and suffocating when time passed. Tae-Moon didn't mind though. Sure, his hair started to stick to his forehead and he ached to let go- to finish his work out session.

I got to reach and break through my limit though... How will I be able to defend myself if I can't even do this?

His thoughts are quick and hurried, just like his breath has become. He winced, the muscles of his arm twitching and tensing involuntarily.

The weight the dark haired student tried to bench press is heavy- an ironic symbolism of his current state. So in haste Tae-Moon is. He desperately tries so hard to become stronger than he could be accomplished.

He grinded his teeth, struggling now to even put the bar back on the stands.

"Holy shit, 475lbs? That's more than three times your weight." The voice comes from behind his head.

In shock, his fingers faltered.

Oh fu-

Quickly two strong hands grasped onto the metal bar and, without any issues, settled it onto the stands. Tae-Moon sat up quickly and turned around, huffing softly. His eyes widened when he saw who stood before him.

Zack Lee!

He took out his silent ear-buds, the song by now has come to an end.

His classmate backed up a little and crossed his arms. The tank top he wears is drenched in sweat while his face glistens under the gym lights. It's obvious he's been working out as well- more likely training Tae-Moon concluded.

"You just gonna stare at me, pal?" Zack's voice is sharp. He raised an eyebrow and tilted his head. Strands of the hair on his forehead collected to the left side of his face.

Tae-Moon, with a flustered and awkward cough, stood up started to remove the weights on the bars.

"Thank you for grabbing the bar." The teen said softly. With tired and trembling hands, he put the circular weights back onto a nearby rack. He sighed afterwards and ran his fingers through his hair.

Zack hummed from behind him and started to throw punches on a nearby punching bag.

"You know dude, you're... kinda weird."

This perked Tae-Moon's attention. He stopped gathering his belongings and turned to the boxer. "How so?"

Why am I even indulging in this conversation if the prick is just going to insult me...

"Well first-" Zack landed a few swings and jabs, his eyes narrowed into a concentrated gaze, before continuing. "You come to this school, become a target for my friends, skip school, make some friends with the class mute and gangster, disappear some more and come back training and obviously increasing in strength, and then now ignoring your only friends. What a weirdo you are pal."

His words caused a twinge of irritation to erupt in the dark haired male's bones. He squinted and titled his head.

"I don't see how I'm weird. You are because you tried to pick a fight with me and then sicked your lackies on me. Also, why have you been keeping close tabs on me? You obsessed with me or something?" He demanded. The air felt even more tense and heated now.

Zack pulled his punches from the bag and faced Tae-Moon.

"You're keeping something hidden and I don't like or trust you. You're not as good as everyone in our class likes to chalk up as. The girls may be fooled- but I'm not. Just stay away from Mira. I don't want your trouble coming back to her." He muttered before walking away.

The boxer stopped; although, and turned his head so he can lock eyes contact with him. His lips are upturned, chin raised, and eyes squinted.

"Also- I saw how you were eyeing the new student and ignoring him. I should change my statement from weirdo to freak."

With that- Tae-Moon was left by himself in the bleak and smelly room. Due to his adrenaline ceasing, the cool air began to nip at his skin. Goosebumps appeared later on, but he couldn't focus on that. His dark eyes are wide and scanning the gym around him. Thoughts of Zack's words swam chaotically in his mind. He felt sick to his stomach- unbearably nervous and he trembled.

"What the hell...?" His voice is soft, and filled with utter confusion.

I'm not... No, no... it's just a big misunderstanding... I'm not...

Tae-Moon knew all too well what he was feeling in this moment.

Denial.
