Receding emotions

A not so brief stint and gasping aloud Anokhi immediately broke away from his gaze...

"Shaurya haath chodiye mera..."

Looking away she blinked haphazardly, trying to put in some repulsion through her stuttering words but only she knew what his closeness was doing to her.

No matter how hard she tries to draw that distinct line, establishing those tall and strong boundaries, still he manages to infiltrate them so effortlessly, erasing them every time.

Here a known expression crossed Shaurya's face reading her stubbornness.

He was well versed with her coping mechanism, her knack of going silent on him as and whenever she used to be angry and today wasn't any indifferent.

Rebelling from any thoughts of backing down, Shaurya patiently hung in there. That tinge of vagueness ringing in her visible kinesics and he
knew their burn was intense and mutual.

Anokhi kept on wriggling but his gaze never left it's sight as to fuel and foster their old connect, his one hand slowly slipped behind, supporting her lower back conveying care and protectiveness while the other one still kept her wrist in hostage making sure no room of escape this time.

Unlike her, he stood calm and silent, his searching eyes gently tracing the fine lines of her expressions as in trying to peer into her soul he was attempting to unravel the unsaid language of their love story in it.

She might lie to herself, infact could even manage to bluff the entire world but couldn't ever hold a poker face for him.

Her face had always been that see through prism by which he can easily delve into the deepest hidden pots of her being where she locks all her insecurities and vulnerabilities every time.

Ample time lapsed in the voyage of this maiden silent game and lastly, it was an incapacitated Anokhi who had to reluctantly look up shooting an infuriated glance at her husband, for his mulish traits.

Their eyes met and those resented emotions clashed again.

"Maine kaha chodiye mujhe...."

Instinctually she thrusted her wedged fist at his chest that was in between, but Shaurya reflexively tamed down her wriggle, giving a gentle squeeze at it.

"kuch der ke liye, kya hum ye sab bhool nahi sakte hai Anokhi..."

His pleading orbs delved deeper, hoping this could be his precise moment to reprieve and relieve
from this smouldering ache.

"can this moment not be, just for the two of us... sirf tum aur mein - teesra aur koi bhi nahi..."

That delicate whisper and there danced a fleeting connect that made her forget everything around her.

Ensconced in the homely confidence that unknowingly got created, Anokhi momentarily forgot to resist and taking this as his hint Shaurya slightly leaned in expressing his desire to curb this growing distance, hoping this closeness could convey what his words failed to express but...

she promptly threw her curtness once again.

"Shaurya mujhe aapse koi baat nahi karni hai..." snapping blunt and harsh Anokhi purposely looked away avoiding him...

"Abhi to bilkul bhi nahi..."
Though every fiber of her being was fluttering with the inevitable effect of his touch, still she decided to mask herself unaffected.

She was somewhere still yearning to live that moment when holding her
in his arms he would have proudly acclaimed to the world that Yes... she is his lady whom he loves to the moon and back.
