I was doing some very important ceiling therapy at the moment. After my actual therapy and after following Lidia's instructions I poured a few drops of the essential oil on my pillow and laid on top. It was Friday afternoon and I had nothing better to do. I just needed some sleep. Just a couple of hours.
A solid hour later/ sixty minutes/ three thousand six hundred seconds later I was still staring at the ceiling. I counted the stars on my ceiling five times.
Five times!
The worst part? I was missing one star.
There should have been sixty, but there were fifty-nine.
I was more on edge than before. And thankfully before I lost my mind even more, my phone dinged with a notification. The first one I ignored the same as I did with the noise coming from the front of the house twenty minutes ago.
I simply wanted to relax. Maybe not entirely, just closing my eyes and breathing. It wasn't that hard. But yet my mind made it my life's mission to stay awake.
I needed Atticus. And I wasn't scared to admit it.
Maybe the past four to five days I slept next to him made me think of all the other times I managed to fall asleep next to him.
I opened my phone and the group chat popped up.
Mateo: ROMAN GOT A NEW CAR!
Xavier: what did he get?
Xander: what did he get?
Arabella: another one? How many do you people need?
