Imagine for MilkyCookies

You sit on your living room sofa, staring blankly at your homework. You had absolutely no idea how to do it and you'd given up a long time ago. You sigh and sit back, rubbing your forehead. Your pounding headache doesn't seem to want to go away.

You hear a knock at the door and groan out loud. You didn't feel like dealing with people right now.

"Who is it?" You call, not moving from your seat.

"The mailman!" A voice says, sounding sarcastic. "Why don't you come out and see what I have for you?"

You sigh and pull yourself up. You slugged your way over to the door and opened it slowly. Looking back at you, with eyebrows raised, was your neighbour Seungkwan. You used to play together as kids but you don't see him as much anymore. You even remember having a crush on him, back in the day.

"What do you want?" You say.

"Hello to you too. And like I said I'm here to deliver the mail." He says, smiling sarcastically at you. He holds out a newspaper, the one your mother always gets.

"Why are you giving me this?" You ask.

"Because that idiot who delivers the mail delivered it to my house instead of yours." He replied, referring to the cute delivery boy you took joy in watching out for.

"Well, don't be a jerk about it. I've had enough stress to deal with as it is." You say and you snatch the newspaper out of his hand.

"Whoa, okay, what's wrong with you?" He asks. He sounds genuinely concerned for once.

"School stuff. Nothing interesting." You say and try to close the door on him, but he keeps it open with one hand.

"What's school stuff?"

"Just homework. It's really nothing."

"Then why are you stressing over it?"

"I..." You couldn't really answer it without sounding stupid. He raises his eyebrows again at you.

"Let me help. I'm not as dumb as you think I am." He says.

You sigh but decide to let him in. After all he could surprise you. You both walk over to the sofa and crash onto it. He immediately rolls up his sleeves attempting to look businesslike.

"Right then. What are you studying?"

"It's just Maths homework." You mumble. You felt quite shy having him here after all these years.

"Good. I'm great at Math."

"Wow, I admire your modesty." You say, rolling your eyes.

"Keep the sarcasm on the low, its my job to be sarcastic." He says and quickly reads through the work you've done so far. "Whoa, this is great!"

"Really??"

"No, you've got everything wrong." He says and laughs. He stops laughing when you groan and bury your face in your hands.

"Hey, don't worry. I'll help you." He says, his voice suddenly softer and kinder. He reaches out and tucks your hair behind your ear. You peek at him through your fingers and smile into your hands. You never realized how kind he was before. Or how cute he was.

"Thank you." You mutter.

You spend the afternoon listening to him explain the questions on your homework paper. He showed you how to answer them and did a better job than most of your teachers in school. After a while you stop doing the homework and start talking about stupid things, catching up on all the time you had spent apart. You eventually started talking about when you both were kids.

"Hey, remember when you fell into the duck pond?" You say, giggling.

"It's not my fault the ducks were so far out! I really really wanted to feed them." He complained and you laughed harder. "What about you and that boy that asked you out? And you turned him down in front of our entire grade."

"In my defense its because I had a crush on you." You say, still laughing from before. You didn't think revealing your crush on him was a big deal, but when you turned to look at him you saw him staring at you, his smile gone. "What?"

"You had a crush on me?" He asks, suprised.

"Well, yeah. You were the only boy I hung out with. It was bound to happen. What's the big deal?" You ask.

"It's just that... I had a crush in you too." He says, looking at his hands.

You gape at him, not really believing his words.

"Then, why did you never ask me out? Though we were kinda too young to be properly together, but that's not the point."

He shuffles uneasily. He bites his lower lip and seems worried about answering the question.

"I don't know... I just didn't think a girl like you would ever like a guy like me." He says quietly.

"A girl like what?" You ask.

He turns to you and rolls his eyes.

"What?!" You say.

"Fishing for compliments now, are we?" He says.

"What? No! I'm just curious." You say, offended.

"Yeah, yeah." He says but smiles kindly at you. He quickly checks his phone and his eyes widen when he sees the time. "Oh, I'd better go. Its getting late."

He gets up and walks over to the door and you follow close behind. You stop him as he is about to walk out.

"Um, listen. How about we hang out again sometime? Like back when we used too?" You ask, shyly.

"Back when you had a crush on me?" He says, smirking. You playfully punch his shoulder. His smile suddenly turns into a warmer one and he steps a little closer to you. "I'd love that, Y/N."

He gently kisses your cheek and turns a deep red. He runs off only to turn back around.

"Oh and beautiful. Kind. Funny. Smart. And weird. So very weird." He says, grinning.

"What?" You say, your eyebrows crinkling in confusion.

"I never thought a girl like that would like me. A girl like you." He says and runs off across the street to his house.

What an adorable idiot.
