Seungcheol lay on his bed, in his bedroom. It was early evening and he was checking his phone for any new messages for the millionth time that day. He sighs heavily as no new messages appeared.

He was feeling low, heartbroken even, as his girlfriend had just broken up with him the previous day. They had loved each other, or at least he thought they did, which made the break up even more confusing to him. He was waiting for a text, a call, a Facebook post, anything that could explain why she did what she did.

He was so absorbed in staring at his phone screen that he didn't notice the sound of someone running up the staircase toward his room.

The door burst open and in came Jeonghan, Seungcheol's best friend.

"Hey there! Your mum let me in." Jeonghan says cheerfully. He jumps onto the bed, jostling Seungcheol. "You feeling better?"

Seungcheol turns his head and looks at him. "Does it look like I'm feeling better?" He grumbles.

"Yikes. No need to take it out on me." Jeonghan replies, holding his hands up. He let's them fall as Seungcheol doesn't respond. Jeonghan moves closer to Seungcheol and lays down next to him, turning his head to look at him.

"Anything new? Has she gotten back to you?" Jeonghan asks. Seungcheol shook his head glumly.

"No, but look." Seungcheol shoves his phone in Jeonghan's face. On the screen there was a photo of Seungcheol's now ex-girlfriend with another guy that Jeonghan didn't recognise. "She's found someone else already."

Jeonghan pulls a disgusted face. "Ew, girls suck."

Seungcheol tears his eyes away from the phone and looks at Jeonghan. "You sound twelve."

"That may be, but it's true." Jeonghan suddenly grins, almost mischievously. "Maybe you should move on too. But not with a girl." Jeonghan pauses, taking in Seungcheol's confused expression. "Maybe you should get a boyfriend."

Seungcheol's confused expression turns into one of horror. "Hey! Whaddya mean get a boyfriend, I like girls!" He says loudly and Jeonghan breaks into laughter.

"Don't knock it 'til you try it." Jeonghan says, shrugging casually. "You're a good looking guy, it shouldn't be that hard."

Seungcheol just stares at his crazy friend while Jeonghan stares back, unblinking. Seungcheol's expression eventually relaxes into the emotionally numb one he had on before and he looks down at the bed. Jeonghan's smile fades away and he shuffles a little closer to his friend on the bed.

"Hey." He says softly. Seungcheol looks up at him, a little startled by the closeness. "Don't be sad. How about we go out, right now, and I'll cheer you up?"

Seungcheol thinks for a second and then nods. Jeonghan smiles again and hesitates slightly before moving away and getting off the bed.

"C'mon then, let's go. And change into something more appealing, you look homeless." Jeonghan declares before striding out of the room.

Seungcheol, who was wearing a snapback, a tank top and long shorts, shakes his head but allows himself a small before returning to the neutral expression. He gets changed into a hoodie and jeans - losing the snapback - and joins Jeonghan outside his bedroom.

Jeonghan quickly looks him up and down before nodding his approval. "Perfect. You look great. Let's go."

Both boys made their way down the stairs. They saw Seungcheol's parents and Seungcheol mumbles an excuse before Jeonghan pushes him outside.

"Where are you taking me?" Seungcheol asks.

"You'll see." Jeonghan replies cheerfully. He links arms with Seungcheol and grins at him.
