You walk down the snow covered street slowly, trying not to slip on the icy ground. It had snowed over night so, of course, you had to plough your way through thick snow to get to the location of the blind date you had talked yourself into.

Your friend had suggested it and set you up with a friend of a friend, so you definitely didn't know him. According to your friend though, he could be an angel and no one would be surprised.

You took that as a good thing.

It was early aftertoon and despite the light make up you had put on that morning you were 100% sure that your nose was bright red.

"Brilliant, I'm gonna look like Rudolph the whole time. Simply fabulous." You muttered out loud, your tone dripping sarcasm. A few people you walked past down the road looked at you weirdly which earned you red cheeks to match your nose.

You turn the corner at the end of the street which led into the park, where you were meeting your date. You enter the gates and walk toward the frozen water fountain to the right. You squint through the snow flurry that had just started to fall, to see a figure with an over coat and a hood on, standing under the lamp post near the fountain. Must be him, you think to yourself.

"Show time." You mutter, already feeling the nervous butterflies in your stomach.

You approach him causiously, trying to think of what to say when you meet. Turns out, you didn't need to as he spots you instantly.

"Hey there. You must be Y/N. I'm Joshua." He says, in the softest, most beautiful voice you had ever heard. He pulls down his hood to reveal an equally beautiful face and holds out his hand.

"Hi." You say, flushing and taking his hand. He shakes it once and then scratches the back of head, looking sheepish.

"Uh, I gotta say something before we start this... I'm not so good as the whole dating thing. It's been a while since I went out on one." He says slowly and you could have screamed with joy.

"Really? Awesome!" You say, exhaling sharply. He gives you a weird look and you quickly replay what you just said in your head. "Uh, it's just that, it's the same with me. I have no idea what I'm doing, truthfully."

"Ahh, you have no idea how happy I am to hear that." He says, laughing shyly.

"So, what do you wanna do?" You ask, looking around.

"Oh yeah." He quickly looks around with you and squints at something in the distance. "Uh, the lake's frozen over and they're letting people skate on it. Want to give it a go?"

"Sure." You nod, knowing full well you had no idea how to skate without falling on your butt.

"Awesome." He smiles. He hesitates slightly before taking your hand in his and holding it tight. "Let's go."

You try to keep in your joy at having this adorkable guy for a date but you end up grinning like an idiot as you begin to walk toward the lake.

"So I guess you need to know a bit about me huh? Well, my name is Joshua, obviously and I like to read. And I play guitar a little. Or a lot. I like to sing too but I, uh, don't do it much. My main hobbies are eating and sleeping though."

As he babbles on you can't help but just stare at him. He glances down at you and you turn your head immediately forward, blushing.

"What about you?" He asks and you could swear you heard a touch of smugness in his tone. Guess he doesn't mind when girls stare, you think. How can you not stare, though?
