Prologue

     Sam looked down at Jade with frightened eyes. She had found out his secret, the secret he so desperately wanted to keep and just forget about. He kept blinking his eyes, hoping to wake up from this nightmare, but it wasn't working. This was real.

     Jade had tears pouring down her cheeks, angry and upset over something she never thought to happen. She kept her head low, not wanting to look at the face of the monster in front of her.

     "I'm so sorry." Sam says, desperately reaching his hand out for hers.

     She takes an immediate step back and shakes her hand. "You lied to me." She whispers. "You used me."

     "No, please let me explain!"

     "Explain what?!" She shouts, bringing her gaze up to face him. "Explain how you made me believe you loved me?! How you made me fall in love with you?! Was any of it real?!"

     "Yes! Of course!"

     She glares at him, hatred taking over her emotions. "You're such a liar! What kind of guy does that?!"

     "Jade, please?"

     She cuts him off with a quick slap to his cheek. "I hate you!" She turns away and storms out of the house, tears falling heavily.
