Chapter 35

I woke up the next morning at 10. I put on my slippers, wrapped a blanket around me, and walked downstairs. I went into the kitchen to see Sydney and Melissa feeding Hunter.

"Morning." They both say simultaniously.

"Morning. Where are Louis and Harry?" I say grabbing a mug from the cabinet. I put a Twinnings tea tea bag in it and pour the boiling water in.

"At the hospital." Sydney says as she puts a spoonful of baby mush into Hunter's mouth.

"What?" I ask, "Why?"

"Shaun called last night around midnight. He took Niall to the ER becuase he had a really bad headache and they needed and x-ray of his face." Melissa says, "Oh, and he has a broken nose and a slight concussion."

"SYDNEY!" I yell, "you gave him a concussion and broke his nose?"

"Yea..." She says scartching her head, "I was just trying to help." I laugh and she nervously laughs back.

"Whats so funny?" She asks and she stops laughing.

"You did this to Mason too." I say and the three of us laugh.

"Its true!" Melissa says.

"So when will they be home?" I ask , taking a sip of tea.

"Not for a while. The place is surrounded by paparazzi. See?" Melissa says as she turns on the TV. Every news channel has reporters outside of the hospital. I stay on one channel to see whats going on. The reporter talks about how Niall got drunk and how he slept with his ex. He talked about how Sydney broke his nose and gave him a concussion. And they also talked about what was going on inside the hospital.As I watched, I got even more upset at what happened. My lip quivered as I held back tears.

"Its okay Sam." Melissa says, giving me a hug. I start crying into her shoulder and she comforts me by rubbing my back. While she was hugging me, her phone started ringing. I pulled away and she picked it up. I realized I had made a puddle of tears on her shirt. I pointed it out but she didn't mind.

"Hello?" She said into the speaker. "Oh hi Louis. Im putting you on speaker. Everyone is here." She presses the speaker button and places the phone on the table.

"Hi guys." Louis says.

"Hi Lou" Sydney and I say.

"Is everything okay?" Sydney asks.

"Yea. But we need you guys to come here. Paul thinks it would be better if we were all together. He is taking us back to his house. Liam and Zayn are already there. Pack for about a week." Louis says.

"Okay." I say. 

"Anything else?" MElissa asks. 

"Yea." He says to her. "Can I speak with Sam? Off speaker."

"Ok." She says and turns off the speaker. I take the phone and go into the living room.

"Hey Lou." I say, sitting down on the couch.

"Hey uhm, I've got to tell you something and don't say anything. Just... listen."

"Mhm." I say back.

"So last night, I talked to Niall. Aaand, we talked about the whole situation. He feels really bad. This is what he told me, and I quote, 'Shes my everything. I need her. She and Hunter complete me. I think shes the one. Shes helped me in so many ways. I know she needs me too. I know that she is having a breakdown. I know excatly how she is. I bet the first time she heard of this, she couldn't sleep. And then when she saw me, she got really tired and got sick. Its always what happens. I know that she has nightmares and all she wants is a hug. I know her. MAybe more than she knows herself. And I know I love her and I know she loves me.' Then, he started crying and I had to leave. HE loves you Samantha. He really does." He finishes and I sit there quiet. Its all true. He does know me better than I know myself. And I do love him. I know he says he loves me, but how do I know?

"He said that?" I ask.

"Word for word." Louis says, "I have to go now. But think about what I told you. He really does love you.." Then, he hangs up. I go back into the kitchen.

"What did he say." Melissa asks.

"Ill tell you later. I need to pack." I say and I go to my room. I pull my suitcase out of the closet and put it on my bed. I unzip it and flig it open. I look inside and there is a piece of paper. I open it up and see that it is a letter.

"Dear Samantha," I read aloud, "If you are reading this, it means you opened your suitcase or its your birthday! (July 16th! I knew that) I guess you heard about the surprise trip, oooor, you just felt the need to open your bag. Well, if you don't know about the trip, now you do. To find out where we are going, follow the clues around the house. Good luck. Here is your first clue- Go to the most fun place in the house. Look under the third game for the 2nd clue. Love, Niall<3" The note was dated June 14th. Today is July 10th. That was a little leass than a month ago. He planned a trip for us that long ago. I throw some clothes in my bag and run downstairs.

"Sam!" I hear as I go past the kitchen, but I keep going. I open the door to the play room and go in. I count the games. 1,2,3. 3. The third one is my favorite. A dance game. I go to it and look around the edges. Then I see it. A piece of paper with the number 2 on it. I open it and read it.

"Heyy! You found it! Next time you see me you get the next clue. Just tell me these words 'You are my one and only' Love, Niall." I read aloud. Then, Sydney and Melissa come in.

"Whats going on?" I hand them the paper.

"Oh! I remember Niall telling us about this." Sydney says.

"Really?" I ask.

"Yea. He told us before he left for here." Melissa said. "We should get going. Do you have everything ready?"

"Yea" I say, "Let me go get it." I run upstairs and grab Hunter's bad and then mine. Paul is here to pick us up. Sydney and Mel have their things in the car and I throw Hunter's and mine in. I put Hunter in the car seat and then I climb in.

"Ready to go?" Paul says and I nod as we pull out of the driveway.
