Hope you've all had an amazing Christmas! Since it is Christmas, and there's no Casualty tomorrow, I've been trying to get two chapters done for you all tonight, because without you, I wouldn't be writing this and I really enjoy it. Thank you for all your continued support - your advice, and your friendship, really does mean a lot❤️

When Grace came home, Connie and Jacob were curled up on the couch watching a repeat of the Royal Variety Performance on Connie's iPad, as they'd missed it the previous night. Connie had been tempted to go completely nude beneath her white, fluffy dressing gown, but had opted for wearing her underwear beneath it just to be safe for if it slipped in front of Grace. Jacob had pulled on some pyjama shorts (they were a little longer than his boxers and weren't as tight fitting), and had then put his black dressing gown over them so he was also dressed appropriately. Connie's legs were entwined with Jacobs, and the dressing gown had slipped down, exposing her slightly. He traced circles across her thigh while they watched the performances, and soon were interrupted by a knock at the door.

'Knock, knock!" Zoe called, and Grace came running in without warning. Just as Zoe and Max entered the room, Jacob moved back off Connie to allow her to hug her daughter.

"Mum!" Grace shouted, throwing her arms around Connie.

"Hello sweetheart!" Connie smiled, returning the hug. "How was the trip?"

"It was great, mum! I'm just glad to be back with you and Jacob!" Grace was so giddy and excited, and Connie couldn't help but smile widely. "Only we got absolutely soaked on the way back to the car, so do you mind if I get changed and tell you about it in a minute?"

"Not at all sweetheart." Connie kissed Grace, and they exchanged 'I love you's before Grace gave both Zoe and Max a thank-you hug and ran upstairs. Connie gestured for Zoe and Max to come in, and so they took their shoes off and sat on the spare couch.

"Sorry if we interrupted anything," Zoe smiled while pointing out the position that the couple were in. "We heard about the power cut and wanted to get back as soon as we could." Max rolled his eyes and laughed at Zoe, telling her off for picking on Jacob and Connie, and they all chatted about their relationships for a little while, before the conversation ran dead.

"Without a kettle we'd have to boil the water on the hob, but you're still more than welcome to have a hot drink if you'd like."  Connie offered.

"I think we'll have to be going," Zoe said. "I want to get home before it gets too dark, especially without the traffic lights." Zoe stood, beckoning Max to follow her.

"Oh, course." Connie stood up to join Zoe and Max, as did Jacob, and they said their goodbyes. "Thank you for looking after my little girl," Connie said as they were leaving, and Zoe stopped to face her.

"She was an absolute gem, Connie. You should be so proud of her. Honestly, it was an absolute privilege to escape work and be with the pair of them. Speaking of, how was work today?" Connie and Jacob looked at each other, and he smiled at her, awaiting her response. She stepped into him and wrapped her arm around his back, while he slipped his around her small waist, and she rested her head on his shoulder.

"We didn't go in," Connie smiled, swaying gently from side to side.

"Oh Connie, you devil!" Zoe gasped, and both Connie and Jacob started to laugh. "I bet I can guess exactly what you were doing all day."

"Well, when you've found the perfect bloke, you don't have time to waste, right?" Connie leant up and kissed Jacob, just as Grace appeared unseen at the top of the stairs. Zoe and Max laughed at the pair being so loved up, and said their goodbyes before leaving, and Connie shut the door after them. "Come here," Connie whispered, and she slipped her hands around Jacob's middle, and kissed him lightly. He held her lower back, and pressed in to her to deepen the kiss. She allowed him entry and they kissed each other slowly, savouring the taste of each other. It was only a short kiss, as they both broke away from each other soon, and - without saying a word - she hugged him tightly. They stood together, their arms around each other, and she sighed as she buried her head into his chest. He fiddled with the back of her dressing gown, and closed his eyes as he kissed her head.
