Chp 26. Capture the Flag

Percy's P.O.V.

We all took off and I followed Annabeth's plan going straight to the left flank where I would get to face Jason.

I got to the creek and stepped in soaking up all the power and strength it gave me.

I took one step up the other side of the boundary when I was greeted.

"Well hey Percy!" Jason said walking up to me with sword in hand

"Oh great!" I said sarcastically

"I know right!" Jason said with a laugh

We could hear the yelling, screaming, and fighting of others as we both got in stance.

He was the first to make a move.

I backed into the creek and made my first move.

We stabbed and parried for awhile until I finally just used one of my special tricks.

Jason sword skittered away behind him and he slowly moved away.

We just laughed.

We don't know why but we could never find the strength to seriously fight one another.

I guess because we always had so much pressure on us to be better than one another with our dads' rivalries as brothers.

We were close.

Since Jason is Roman and I was here first I would assume that that's why I'm considered the leader.

Jason had just picked up his sword as we heard the screaming and yelling rise.

"Oh no!" We said as we ran

"Your going to lose Jackson!" Jason yelled as he ran on his side of the creek towards the middle

"That's what you think, Grace!" I replied running on my side to the direction Annabeth should be

When we got there we saw all the campers running.

Jason's whole team was crowded around the boundary line.

What?

There was no Annabeth!

"Hey!" Alexis said running up to me "Leo got the flag!"

"What?! No! Alexis! You let him sweet talk you?!" I yelled as Jason laughed

"No! I! Did! NOT!!! I went around the right side because Nico is nowhere to be found! He didn't even do his job! Leo is back there running around like an idiot!" She yelled in response

As she talked I eyed the other team's side.

I saw Annabeth behind a tree with the flag in her hands.

She finally made eye contact with me and smiled trying to shoe me sign language.

She made two legs with one hand and a wave with the other.

She made the legs ride the wave and that's when I knew what she wanted.

I winked and she gave me a thumbs up.

"Yep Jackson! Looks like you've lost! No one beats "Leo"!" He said trying to mimic Leo's name in his voice

There was a loud roar of yelling as a ball of fire came running towards te creek.

Leo had the flag with a fire glowing around his body so no one could touch him.
