Chp 32. Her Side

Annabeth's P.O.V.

I didn't know what to do.

I turned away to try and breath but my lungs were frozen.

My heart thundered.

Did he kiss her?
Did she kiss him?

It doesn't matter!
That doesn't matter!

They kissed and that's what mattered!

How could he?

The tears started to come.

I couldn't hold them back much longer.

I turned around and they weren't Percy stood facing the sea with his hands on his head.

Drew ran off with a smile on her face as I stormed onto the beach.

What was I thinking?
What could I do?
What was I going to do?

Percy turned as he heard me coming.

"Annabeth!"

"How could you?" I cried "How could you?"

"Is this the surprise you wanted me to see because believe me, I am!?" I yelled

"You don't understand!" he argued

"No! No! You don't just tell me to meet you here and make out with another girl just because I said I would be a little late! Just think of all we have been through and yet, you've been cheating on me!"

"No! I told you, you don't understand!" he exclaimed

"Oh, I understand just fine! I trusted you, but no! I knew something was up with you lately! Why you haven't been seeing me as much! You have been cheating on me! I thought... Well I thought you were going to....., but that's not the point! I guess I was wrong! I should have stopped it today because I really noticed it, but no! I trusted you!" I cried in frustration

"You don't understand, and what are you talking about today?" he said

"You! You and Drew at training today! I saw you! I saw both of you! The way you touched her! Do you think I am blind?" I yelled

"You don't understand! I was just helping her! I don't know what her deal was!" he yelled

"Is that all you can say? That I 'don't understand'? Well you clearly don't! You are clueless as to how much she was flirting with you! Clueless, and you didn't do a thing! You let her continue and most of all, you continued! I can't believe I was so stupid! All this time you have been avoiding me, I thought something different, but I bet you've been with her, haven't you?" I yelled back

I saw campers starting to come as I let it all out.

"No! I would never! Just let me explain!" he yelled very upset

"No! I know! Just don't talked to me, ok?" I cried "We are finished!"

He tried to come towards me, but I pushed him away as hard as I could.

I turned away and started to leave.

I pushed past the campers that had gathered which didn't help my frustration.

Our friends had gathered and were freaking out.

Piper grabbed my arm. "Annabeth, what happened?"

Jason was at her side, but left, probably to see Percy.

Jasmine and Alexis came running.

Nico came out from the shadows, and next thing we knew, Leo came in a blast.

He ran down yelling. "What?! What happened?! Where's the monster?! Did they interrupt Percy and Annabeth's love session?!"

His hands were on fire an my heart broke a little more at the last part.

"If the monster is Drew, then yes!" I said as I half cried, half yelled

Alexis ran up to him and tried to shut up the terribly confused Leo.

His usually sarcastic face changed dramatically to a very serious, rarely seen face.

I pushed past everyone in tears, and Percy called after me with the saddest tone in his voice.

"Annabeth! Please! Please listen to me!"

I ignored him and continued to walk away.

The next thing I knew, I bumped into Drew.

I became infuriated and Piper and Alexis ran in front of me.

Jasmine guided me the other way, and I heard the straining in Percy's voice as he fought to break away from Nico, Leo, and Jason.

"Good job Jackson!" yelled Clarisse sarcastically trying to defend me

I broke away from everyone and ran to my cabin.

I was done.
