Chapter 13: Accept

Aang's P.O.V

I watched as water slowly dripped from the ceiling.

We moved to the other ship with the people we just fought.

Well our ship was damaged... Their ship was not.

I was laying in bed, thinking.

The whole world thinks I'm dead. I let everyone down again.

The door to the room I was in opened.

"Hey Aang." Toph said entering the room with Sokka, Katara, Rin, Hinata and Choji.

"We are going into town to find some dinner."

I touched my stomach as it growled.

"Well... I am pretty hungry. Maybe dinner is a good idea." I said with a small smile.

Sokka pulled out a rag, "Here the this around your head. It will cover your arrow."

I furrowed my eyebrows.

Cover my arrow?!

Oh hell nah!

"I'm not going out if I can't wear my arrow proudly."

I laid back in bed.

"Aang come on. Be practical."

"You guys go ahead without us. We'll catch up with you." Katara said as they left the room.

Rin's P.O.V

"Why does Aang have to cover his arrow?" Hinata asked as we walked through the halls of the boat.
"Well... I guess you'd need and explain station on this whole war." Sokka said.

"The Earth, Water, and well Air nomads are at war with the fire nation. Aang is the only air nomad alive because the fire nation killed the rest off..."  Sokka said.

My eyes widened.

"A whole nation?!  Are they crazy?!" I stopped and clenched my fist.

"Rin..." Hinata said softly turning to me.

"Crazy is the fire nation's middle name." Toph said.

"If Aang shows his arrow, they'll immediately know he didn't die..."
"Wait, what?"
"We'll explain the plan to you later.  Let's get food."  Sokka said as we got on the deck.

"Food!  Here we come!"  Choji said smiling.

Katara's P.O.V

We've finally returned to the boat.

I've learned something new...
Rin is an amazing cook. That's good to have.

"I brought you some food." I entered Aang's room to reveal it empty.

My eyes widened, "Oh no..."

I dropped the food and immediately ran onto the deck.

"Katara?" I heard Naruto's voice, but I immediately ran to my father.

"What's wrong Katara?"

Tears streamed down my face.

"He left."
"What?"
"Aang... He just took his glider and disappeared. He has this ridiculous notion that he has to save the world alone. That it's all his responsibility."
"Maybe that's his way of being brave."
"It's not brave. It's selfish and stupid! We could be helping him and I know the world needs him but doesn't he know how much we need him too! How can he just leave us behind?!"
