Finally, graduation is over. I'm so excited to go back to Shanghai and be with my family. I've been living in New Zealand for over four years to study Business Management. I only get to go home during vacations, which was not much, I tell you. College life was stressful, most especially the last two years. There was thesis, internship and all that shit. No time even for just a bit of romance....well, maybe a little.

My best friend, Victor, was the only thing that kept me sane here. Of course, the country itself is beautiful, but it's not home. There were lots of guys, yes....but I wasn't really able to find somebody whom I could really call boyfriend for life, since most of us come from different countries and wouldn't be able to see each other after graduation.

As we pack our things from our shared apartment, Victor and I reminisce over the past four years of our life.

"I'd surely miss this place," Victor is saying through happy and sad tears.

"Me, too." I hug him, "I'm gonna miss you the most," I tell him.

"Besie...we'll see each other in two weeks, right?" He says, hugging me back. "You promised you'd come visit me in Korea."

Victor Park has been my best friend ever since I came to New Zealand. We were in the same school, taking up the same major. It was easy for us to click since we both had the same interests....boys, party, food...oh and did I mention BOYS? Yes....Victor is gay.

"But, still," I loosened my hug on him just to let my hands rest on his shoulders, "two weeks is a long time. I'm used to being with you like twenty-four-seven."

"I know right?" He's starting to tear up again. I swear this guy is a cry baby. "Jess...." He pulls me back in his arms and sobs.

"Stop crying, will ya?" He's such a drama-queen. "You're wetting my shirt."

"Sorry. I just can't believe we've finally graduated."

"So, are you ready to face the real world?" I ask him.

This 'Real World' is scaring the both of us. His dad owns one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea and he wants him to take over after he graduates. He's quite excited, I might say. But what's really bothering him is the thought of military service. You see, in Korea, all males are required to render two years of their life to do military service. They need to undergo training like a real soldier.

So, since he's gay, he's really not thrilled about it.

As for me, my parents own a lot of hotels and restaurants all over China and a few countries in Asia. They expect me to start training as well after graduation - training to be the sole heir of it all. I like it though, but seeing how my parents are stressed out and problematic all the time, I'm having second thoughts about it.

"I'm not sure. I hope it doesn't happen very soon." He says nervously.

We take a taxi to the airport together since our flights are almost at the same hour. Looking back one last time at the apartment we were so used to calling home, we sigh.

We hug each other for the longest time before making our separate ways to our flights. "I love you, besie."

"I love you more, besie. Call me when you land." He waves and walks backwards.

At the plane, I take the window seat. I look down at the beautiful country and sigh once more. I'm sure gonna miss this place.

"Ah-Cy," my Mu (governess, babysitter) welcomes we with open arms as I exit the gate of the airport. As expected, my parents are too busy to come see me. I sigh and forced myself a big smile at her.
