As children, Kagami Taiga was one who made promises to people. It didn't matter whether or not he knew them. Just, if they were there.
There was one day that Kagami can recall easily. It was the day he first met Kuroko Tetsuya.
Kuroko was generally an honest child, who rarely broke promises, so naturally, the two got along quite well. Before they knew it, that had become the best of friends.
Not soon after, Kagami had to move away. Far away. Kuroko knew deep in his heart that he might not ever see Kagami again, but the two made one last promise.
"I swear I'll come back, don't worry!"
"Thank you, Taiga-kun."
"Sheesh, Tetsuya, I told you not to use '-kun' on my name!" Kagami had said with a light laugh. "Oh well, whatever. I'll see you when I get back!"
With that, Kagami ran off, waving as he left behind his childhood friend.
Kagami never did come back.
"You broke your promise."
"Liar."
