You took Kuroko's hand in your own, his palm soft against your own as you rested your head on his shoulder, sitting next to each other on his couch. The two of you had been watching a movie for the last hour, and it was almost over.
A small smile adorned your lips as the end credits began to scroll up on the screen. Kuroko started to move to turn the TV off, when you grabbed his hand, pulling him back onto the couch. You curled up next to him, hugging his side.
"Don't go," you mumbled to him.
He smiled and kissed the top of your head lovingly. "I won't," he replied in a whisper as he wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer. It wasn't long before the two of you fell asleep.
When you woke next to him, it was your birthday. You smiled to yourself, remembering that this day marked the one you were born. Kuroko stirred beside you and sat up, yawning.
"Good morning," you greeted him, kissing his cheek. He smiled at you.
"Happy birthday, (Y/N)-chan."
"You remembered," You commented quietly as a happy blush crept up on your cheeks.
"Of course, how could I forget?"
You shrugged slightly, and he just barely noticed it. "What should we do today?" You asked, taking his hand in yours as you looked down at it, tracing the lines on his palm with your fingers.
"What ever you would like to," he replied, and you smiled.
"I'm happy as long as I can be with you," you nearly mumbled, concentrating on drawing on his hand with your fingertips. He smiled slightly, and you would have missed it, if you didn't look up at that exact moment.
"The same can be said for me, (Y/N)-chan," he hummed.
He leaned forward and kissed your nose, making you giggle.
"Here, let's go eat," he suggested, and you nodded, standing up before you walked to the kitchen.
"What do you want to eat, Tetsuya?" You asked, and he gently moved you out of the way.
"I'm going to cook for you, it is your birthday, after all."
"Tetsuya, the only thing you know how to cook is hard boiled eggs," you replied with a teasing tone and a small smile. "Just let me cook, I like cooking for you." For a moment, he looked like he wasn't ready to give in, but his defiance quickly faded when he noticed the smile on your face.
He replied with a faint nod, and you grinned.
"Thanks."
Another nod, and a small smile. You opened the cupboards, seeing a box of pancake mix.
"Oh," you mumbled, taking the box down as you began to read the side to determine what you would need to make them. The ingredients were simple; "Two eggs, a cup of milk, and two cups of the mix." You stepped lightly on habit, as you made your way to the fridge to see if there was anything you didn't have.
Upon realizing that you had all that you needed to make them, you turned to Kuroko.
"How do pancakes sound?" You asked.
"Delicious."
You gave him a slight nod of your head in reply, and bent down to get a large bowl, and a pan. He watched from the other side of the island table in the middle of the kitchen as he took a seat. You measured out the mix and milk, before you poured them into the bowl, and single-handedly cracked both eggs at once.
