Chapter 6 - The CDC

I heard Daryl and Lori yell at us as they come running over to us.
"What the hell do you think your doing kissing my baby sister?!" He yelled pushing me out of the way getting in Carl's face but I ran in front of him.
"Baby sister?" I asked him because he's never called me that before, it was weird.
"That's not the point, what the hell was that?!" He yelled agin and I pushed him back a little.
"Relax Daryl it's not like we were going to do anything else!"
"You could have!" He yelled and I blushed just shaking my head dragging him back to the motorcycle.

Carl's P.O.V
That was awesome. Until my mom and Daryl yelled at us with Daryl getting all up in my space. Jessica pulled him away to the motorcycle and my mom began lecturing me about how having a relationship now is a bad idea and some stupid shit like that. I wasn't listening, I was just thinking about that kiss. Until my mom snapped me out of my thought,
"CARL!" I flinched getting out of my thoughts
"What?"
"Want to tell me what that was about?"
"Not really." I said sarcastically
"Uh, Carl." But I cut her off
"Mom, listen I know it's not a good idea to be in a relationship now but their is nothing you can do to stop it. You still love dad right? So why can't I love Jessica?" I said walking away back into the car slamming the door sitting their holding my hat. Thankfully she didn't come in and bother me. I laid my head on the window trying to process what just happened. Until that was interrupted by the door opening,
"Go away." I said until they spoke.
"Ok but we're gonna have to talk about this sooner or later sherif." It was Jessica. I jump up and grab her arm before she goes back out.
"Wait! I'm sorry I thought you were my mom."
"I know." She said getting in the back seat with me getting close.
"So....."
"So......" I said back
"What did Daryl say?" I asked nervously
"Just that if you hurt me he would shove your head up your ass." She said sarcastically calm.
"Nothing to worry about." She said sarcastically again and I just shook my head smiling. She suddenly grabbed hat putting it on.
"How do I look?" She asked smiling posing all funny
"A model." I said laughing back at her funny poses.
"I try." She said until she flinched and I jumped.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't worry, my knife just started poking me really hard." She said pulling her knife out of her pants and I grabbed my hat back.
"Hey I didn't say I was done with that!" She said pouting but smiling
"Sorry, here." I said putting back on her head.
"Thank you." She said fixing it to her liking.
"But seriously, we have to talk." I nod my head in agreement
"I know." I said back. Their was a pause of awkwardness.
"Jessica, do you want to go out? Like together.... As a couple?" I said nervously and she just sat their thinking until she leaned in kissing me. I kissed her back and then pulled away for a second
"So yes?"
"No." She said and I was shocked
"Just kidding." She said smiling pulling me back in again. But of course that was also interrupted by mom barging in,
"Whenever you two are done here, Jim is dying and you need to come say goodbye." She said and me and Jess look at each other nod and get out. We start to walk over and I grab her hand. We hold hands walking over to Jim to say goodbye as he was sitting by a tree.
"You two will make futures for this world." He said smiling at me and Jess as she blushed.
"Thanks." We said in unison.
"Jessica, can I talk to Carl for a second?" He asked as she nodded letting go of my hand walking over to Jackie who was sitting on the steps slightly crying. I was confused about what he wanted to tell me.
"You listen here son, girls like that don't come around often. You keep her close and never let her go. You here?" I nod
"I can see she loves you, and you love her, but don't do something you'll regret." I nod again
"You two will make it in this world, I can see it. Create something beautiful for it and make it better ok?" I nod again walking back over to Jess thinking about what he said. By something beautiful did he mean a baby? I was just replaying that in my head until I was snapped out of thought.
"Ready to go?" It was my dad.
"Yeah." I said going over to Jessica hugging her one last time before getting back in the car.
"Love you." She said pulling away and I was just shocked. But before she walked away I ran in front of her kissing her cheek and whispered in her ear
"Love you more." And I ran back to the car since everyone was ready to go getting in.

2 hours later Jessica's P.O.V

We could see the building from aways away and noticed we couldn't just pull up to the door. We park and get out. Me and Daryl have been smelling this dead gut wrenching smell for a while until everyone got out smelling it too. We were all coughing making our way quietly to the building. I had my crossbow as did Daryl. I ran to Carl grabbing his hand, to be honest I was kind of scared myself and him being their made me feel better.
"Keep moving and stay together."Rick said
We finally made it to the door after walking though a hundred dead bodies everywhere. Rick and Shane started to mess with the doors that were shut attempting to open it, with no luck.
"Nothing?" Shane pounded on the door
"There's nobody here." T-dog said
"Then why are these shutters down?" Rick asked
"Uh guys we got company!" I shout as everyone turns around seeing a dozen or so walkers spread out coming for us. I took out one with my bow and Daryl starts to yell
"You led us into a grave yard!" He yells at Rick
"He made a call!" Shane said
"It was the wrong dam call!" Daryl yells back
"Just shut up ok, everyone shut up!" Shane gets in Daryl's face and usually I would stop him but he did have to shut up.
"Rick this is a dead end!" Shane said turning around to Rick.
"We can't stay here this close to the city after dark." Lori said
"Fort Benning, Rick still an option." Shane said
"With no food, fuel, that's a hundred miles!" I said to Shane
"Forget Fort Benning we need answers tonight and NOW!" Lori yelled
"Well think of something!" Rick yelled back
"No come on we gotta go everyone back to the cars!" Shane yelled but Rick didn't move.
"Rick come on!" I yelled but he didn't listen
"The camera moved!"
"You imaged it." Dale said to Rick
"No I didn't!"
"Rick listen to me man it was just the gears, shutting down we gotta go!" Shane was trying to pull Rick away.
"OPEN UP, WE HAVE WOMEN AND CHILDREN HERE YOUR KILLING US YOUR KILLING US!" He kept screaming at the door over and over. Shane was trying to pull him away and just as he gave up......it opened.
