CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

KAESHA's POV.

"Kaesha," I heard his voice. Nanggilid ang luha sa mata ko. Masisisi nyo ba ako kung maging emosyonal ako? I missed him. I missed them.

"Ash," I whispered. Our companions suddenly turned utterly silent, but when I looked at them, they're smiling at me.

Yet the kind of smile they're giving is in between sad and worried.

"How are you?" Tanong nya sa akin. I chuckled nervously. He has the guts to ask me when their lives are at stake already?

"Ako dapat nagtatanong nyan, Ash. Kamusta kayo?" Sunod ay narinig ko ang malalim nyang paghinga. Napakatahimik din ng nasa paligid at para bang palihim lamang itong tumatawag.

I looked at Farrah as I confirmed that whoever she talked about really helped us with this one.

"We're fine. But our lives are in danger," My hands went cold as my grip on the wireless telephone tightens.

"I know," I whispered.

I heard him sighed, but he didn't speak for a while.

Until he do.

"And I know who's the traitor at isn't you or your best friend," I gasped as my eyes went wide a little. Because of the volume of how we are talking, the others couldn't hear what we are whispering about. That's why they became alerted when they heard me gasped.

And I know that Ashton is intelligent, but I never thought he'll know whoever it is already when we're still clueless and... I don't remember saying that there's a traitor inside! Because as much as we could, we are trying to make them think that we are clueless- that the Mad Scientist has an eye inside our group.

I just couldn't help but know... how long?

Why it seemed as if it's really planned from the start?

How the hell did she join Damien's group, by the way?

Unless she was told... to keep an eye to Farrah and be with her as the apocalypse happened.

I woke up from my thoughts when I heard Ashton speaks.

"We should've believed in you-"

"Hush." Pagpuputol ko sa sasabihin nya. "Ililigtas namin kayo," As I looked at our companions who are nodding their heads after hearing what he said.

I heard him laugh a little. A nervousness yet hopeful laugh. Before he caught me off guard.

"Fine. I miss you."

Natahimik ako sandali. My heart is beating so fast, and I know that my cheeks are burning right now.

Napangiti ako at palihim na sumagot, mas mahina kumpara sa kanina at medyo yumuko upang hindi nila makita. "I miss you too, Ash," I whispered breathlessly, due to my heart beating so erratically right now.

I looked at my companions. "Ready?" Tanong ko sakanila.

Tumango sila bilang sagot sa aking tanong at kanya-kanyang binitbit ang kanilang baril na ngayon lamang namin susubukang gamitin. The upgraded guns. Napatingin ako sa medyo may kalayuang building. Ang Fajardo's. Kung nasaan sila Ashton at kung saan namin sila ililigtas.

"We'll save them, no matter what," I heard Damien said as he's looking in front using his binoculars as we nodded at what she said.

"Guys. It's time." Farrah said. She's the one who's our driver right now, but just like us, she has her gun placed in the car's front as if that's where it should be placed for those who are driving this armored truck. I nod and look at Fajardo's again.
