Flora POV

"What is that thing?" Roxy asks, looking up in awe.

"If it's what I think it is," I say, "then if I destroy it-"

"You really think that's their source?" Roxy asks, also sensing the overwhelming negative energy.

I nod.

"Makes sense why I couldn't transform. That thing feels strong," she sighs.

That must be why they put them here, to weaken them by having them next to their magic source.

"Source?" Stella asks, clearly confused.

"Remember how the Wizards stole power from fairies? They must've had to find a place to store all that magic and then turn it to dark magic," I say.

I walk closer to the glass dome, looking at the magic inside.

"Wait, Flora," Roxy stops me.

"Hmm?" I hum, turning around.

"Why just store all your energy in a glass sphere? Why not just absorb it?" Roxy says, and I know she's right.

And why leave it out in the open for anyone to find?

Unless you wanted it to be found.

"Something feels off," Stella says what's on the three of our minds.

"Yeah, I say we just focus on getting out, we shouldn't touch it," I say and the girls nod.

But I can't stop thinking about that energy.

"What would happen if that was destroyed?" I say after moments of thought.

"Huh?" Roxy asks, confused.

"I dunno. The magic would fly up into the air?" Stella says.

"She's being serious," Roxy shoots Stella a look.

"So am I!"

"Then what?" I ask.

"Why are you asking this?" Roxy asks.

"If I destroy the sphere, I'm only destroying the sphere," I say.

"Not the magic," Stella says, catching on.

You sneaky, sneaky Wizards.

"I'm lost," Roxy says.

"If I'm right, the Wizards have turned me into some sort of magic magnet. To make their job easier. So, destroying that thing would end in me absorbing the dark magic," I explain.

"And speed up, if not complete, the process," Roxy adds, finally understanding.

"Exactly," Stella and I agree in unison.

"Wait, Stella, how did you know about the whole magnet thing?" I ask.

"Two words. Detention, and library," she rolls her eyes.

"Thank you Miss Griselda," Roxy laughs, "seriously, she saved us!"

"That was I close one," I sigh in relief.
