Poem Fifty - ♬ Follow The Heart

11 2 1

For some, trust is their shield,
Love, their armor,
Loyalty, their sword,
And bravery, their trusted steed.

Our kingdom is of valor and fidelity,
Courage and faith.
Our fellows, just copies of the original, but different.

Everyday, every interaction, a battle,
Though they don't have to have bloodshed nor violence.
The battles are training, seeing what the other doesn't have defenses against,
And help fill in the gaps afterward.

But there are kingdoms who's motto is passion and ambition,
Who want to burn the others.
Who's warriors have dangerous, weak gear.

They have no shield.
Their armor is adrenaline.
Anger and hate, their sword.
Bloodlust as their untrusted steed.

But love as armor lasts longer,
Trust as a shield, hardier.
Loyalty is a stronger sword,
And the courageous steed doesn't hesitate.

These connect to the heart-soul,
No mental logic, but emotional.
Feelings dictated by moral.

Unshielded,
Adrenaline armor,
Swords of hate,
And their steed of bloodlust.

All connect to the brain,
Not the mind,
Fueled by chemical emotions.

Follow the heart, not the brain.
Those kingdoms will prosper in peace,
And avoid war.
