Poem Sixty-Five - ♬ Burning

5 1 3

Do you see me
and see me burning?
Or can you see
my flames aren't hurting?

You feel the heat, you see the glow,
surrounding me and my tongues of fire,
and you think it safer to put it out, say no,
but it's my most passionate desire.

I will get burned, eventually,
but I am not afraid to be burned.
I know life isn't easy, actually
I know that's where lessons get learned.

My fire is me.
I am not afraid.
I will keep my thoughts free,
but my choice is made.
