Layla's POV
The day of the wedding was hectic. I had to help Hope get ready, get myself ready and get three kids ready. Bentley was actually helpful though. He decided to take the boys, so I only had to worry about Ava.
Hope and Brant had decided to have the wedding in the from yard, mainly because we weren't expecting many people and it only seemed fitting to them that they be married at home.
We spent most of the morning hanging the white lanterns and white lights from the trees, and setting up the chairs and archway. Tables were set up on the front porch, since there weren't going to be many people, we didn't need that big of a space.
At about three everyone went their separate ways to get ready. The guys left to go to their parents house while all of us got ready at home. Mrs. Megan, Bethie and Mrs. Sadie arrived and got helped us get ready.
Molly and Bethie were the bridesmaids, I was the maid of honor and little Miss Ava Kay was the flower girl (Aiden and Andrew were both in wedding party as well.). All of us were wearing orange dresses, which fit the fall theme of the wedding. Hope's dress was slim white dress, that cut low in the back, and had diamond beading at the top. It was ruffled at the bottom an had a long train. She looked gorgeous in it.
We curled her normally straight hair and pinning it back on the sides, leaving most of it down. Since her hair was mostly down, we all wore our hair up, so none of us would match her.
Mrs. Megan gave her an blue garter, which took care of the something new and blue. I let her use my diamond earrings, that was something borrowed. Mrs. Sadie gave her the hair pin that she had also used in her wedding, that was the old item.
By 4:45, the guest were beginning to arrive and Hope was getting extremely nervous.
"What if he changes his mind?" She asked as we watched another car pull in, from the living room window.
"He's called me five times asking if you've changed your mind." I said with an eye roll. "Just relax." I told her.
"Girls.." There was a knock on the front door. "It's time." Mr. Chad informed us. Hope looked ready to faint at those words.
"It's going to be fine Hope." I told her, then I gave her a hug, careful not to mess up her dress or hair, then I turned to my daughter. "You ready Baby?"
"Yes!" She said excitedly. She was ready to throw the flower pedals. She had been so excited about her job that she had torn every pedal off of my rosé bush to practice.
Bethie and Molly walked out first, then I went, followed by Ava, who did absolutely wonderful at her job, and then it was time for Hope.
As soon as she walked out of the house I looked over at Brant, who had been shaking because he was so nervous. The look on his face was one that I wanted to see one day. One that I wanted directed at me as I walked toward the alter.
He was in complete awe. Like he had never seen anything more beautiful, like he only saw her. That's when my eyes began to water. In all the years that I had known him, it was hard to take him seriously. Brant was an idiot and he loved to joke, but in that moment I saw just how serious he was about her. He looked like the happiest guy alive.
The service went smoothly but of course it couldn't end quick enough for the kids. I ended up holding Ava, while Brandon and Bentley each held a boy. The pastor finally announced them as man and wife and told Brant to kiss his bride, which he had no trouble doing and right as he kissed her, I looked at Aiden and Andrew who looked at each other in disgust and let out a very loud 'EW!'.
Gotta love kids.
Bentley's POV
Layla looked amazing. Especially when she was running after the kids. Her being the mother of my children made me love her even more. I smiled at the sight of her pulling her heels off, and changing into flip flops. She never could stand those damn things.
