"Come on, Dark. If you're going to be playing hockey you have to lose the glasses." Dark pouted at me. "I don't like doctors, (y/n)." he said, with no emotion.  "Come on, it's to get contacts. You'll love them. I wear contacts." Dark scoffed. "So?" he said. "So I know  what they're like." Dark glared at me. "People think you look better without glasses. Imagine all of the ladies." "(Y/N) please. Glasses or not I get plenty of attention." "Don't make me snap your glasses, Dark. I got you an appointment for a reason. You said you were interested." "I was. Not so much anymore. You didn't say anything about doctors then." "What did you expect? Are you scared?" Dark snapped his head. "Scared? No. Annoyed? Yes. Doctors are weird as fuck (y/n)." I threw my hands up in the air. "Fine. Play with your glasses on...we'll see how that goes." Dark and I laced our skates up and I headed onto the ice. I've been a great hockey player for years and teaching Dark to play was going to be interesting, to say the least. We had traveled all the way to Michigan to my aunt's house to mess around on her pond. Suddenly, Dark whooshed by me. "Wow, I didn't know you already knew how to skate." That's when I noticed his skates weren't even touching the ice. "Dark come on." I said. He landed on the ice. He maintained his balance for about ten seconds and went face down on the ice. I laughed. "Are you okay?" When he sat up I saw that his nose was bleeding and his glasses were shattered. "Did I win?' I asked. Dark shot me an evil look. "This time." he said, flatly. I tossed him my jacket and he held it over his nose. "Come on." Dark plopped into the front seat of my car, black blood streaking down my gray hoodie. "I hope that washes out, that's my favorite hoodie." Dark snarled at me. "I was only joking." I said. "Is it broken?" Dark took my hoodie away and looked in my mirror. "No, it's just cut. Glasses got up against it, I guess." I examined it. "Well if that's all I'll just skip the ER and head to the optometrist's office." Dark rolled his eyes. "Great." he said. Fortunately for us, the optometrist was forgiving towards Dark. She didn't care that he had blown off his earlier appointment. She studied his eyes. "I have never seen silver eyes before." she remarked. Dark shot a look over to me. I didn't know what to tell her. "Did you surgically alter the color?" Bingo. I vigorously nodded. "Yes." "Where? I've never seen an eye color change surgery go so smoothly, they look so natural outside of the color." "Some dude in LA, I don't remember." The doctor pursed her lips, but ultimately dropped the subject. She jotted down a prescription for contacts for Dark and we left. "So can you see anything?" I asked, waving my hand in front of Dark's eyes. "Yes...kind of." "How bad is your vision anyway?" "It's alright. Fuzzy without glasses, but it's not THAT bad." "You're gonna have fun putting these things in. The first time is always the worst." "Thanks for the encouraging words (y/n). You're such a great friend." I laughed. "Look, I'll grab your contacts and help you." I said, pulling into the parking lot of the store. "I'll wait." Dark said with a sigh. I rushed into the pharmacy. They told me it'd be 20 minutes before they could fill the prescription. I chilled out waiting, texting Dark. When the order was filled I paid and dashed back to my car. I handed Dark his contacts. "Trust me, you'll love them." I said. Dark looked unamused. "If you say so." he said. We pulled up to my aunt's house, said hi to her and dashed upstairs. I shivered. "Aren't you cold, Dark? It's like 2 degrees outside." Dark shrugged. "I guess I don't really get cold." he said. "Well I'm not gonna be able to do anything with my fingers until they're warm." I said, walking from the guest bedroom to the bathroom. I ran some water over my fingers and then dried them well. "Okay. I think I'm ready." I arranged the contacts. "Look  up, and try not to focus your left eye." Dark sighed and obeyed. I extended my finger towards his eye. "This might feel a little funny, just hold still." Dark held his breath. I gently placed the contact over his eye. "If you have to blink, do it slowly." Dark shook his head a bit. I did the same thing to his right eye. Dark blinked a few times. "What do you think?" I asked. "I think my vision is better than it has ever been." he said. I smiled and looked out the window. "Looks like we're gonna have to postpone hockey practice for awhile. It's snowing hard out there." Dark followed my gaze. "You're afraid of snow?" he asked. I frowned. "No...I'm a human I get cold. Apparently you don't. You're always cold to the touch so I guess it makes sense." Dark frowned. "I'm a demon, yes, I'm cold to the touch, but I warm up if something warm is against me. You act like I'm made of concrete." I touched Dark's arm. Brr. He was cold. The longer I held his arm the warmer he got though. "I'm freezing, I'm lighting a fire in here." I said, getting up and heading to the fireplace. "Suit yourself." Dark said, flopping backward onto the bed. "I think I'm gonna take a nap since you're too afraid to play hockey." "That's fine. Can I join?" Dark looked at me and nodded. I flopped right next to him. I pulled my phone out. "Snow around here can get crazy, I'm checking the forecast. If it gets too crazy I don't know what we'll do." Dark eyed my phone. "Says it should keep up for a few hours. A few hours isn't that bad."  he said. "Sometimes it is. We're in Michigan. The snow around these parts can get wild in no time at all. I grew up here, believe me." We watched it snow. "Hopefully we'll be able to go out in awhile, but for now, let's just nap." I rolled onto my side and faced Dark. He made a face at me and I slugged him. "You are so mean." I said. "Says the person slugging me." "Aw, did it hurt?" "Oh yeah, so badly." Dark said sarcastically. "Shut up. Take a nap." I said, yawning. We both knocked out and by the time we woke up, the snow had stopped...but it was deep and it was dark out. "So...night training?" I asked. "Doesn't bother me, I have night vision." "Well, I don't. I'm gonna need a light source." "I can do that." "Fine then, let's go." We trudged through the snow and onto the ice. Dark shined his flashlight onto the surface. "We have to clear the snow off of the ice before we can do anything." Dark snapped his fingers and the issue was immediately resolved. "You know, you're really great to have around sometimes." "I'm great to have around all the time. You just don't know it yet. I'm the best thing that has ever happened to anyone." "Sure, whatever, just grab those skates and get out here." I spent about an hour getting Dark used to skating, then we began working on hockey fundamentals. Each morning for a week we practiced and played together. On our last night at my aunt's, we sat on the bed in our room in front of the fireplace. "You've gotten so good. When we go back you could play in the big leagues." I said. "Well I am gifted in everything." I shot him a look. "You didn't even know how to skate when we flew in. Don't give me that." "I was only kidding (y/n). I'm glad you taught me...I've always wanted to learn." I smiled. Dark looked at me for a long time without talking. I opened my mouth to ask why and he planted a firm kiss on me. I kissed him back. It seemed like the right thing to do. I wrapped my arms around his neck and took him backwards with me on the bed. He shuffled to catch his balance and immediately began working our clothes off. He draped my legs off of the end of the bed and quickly got down to business. "We have to be quiet...my aunt's room is right underneath this one." I whispered. Dark gave me a nod and in lieu of moaning, we harshly whispered each others' names. I hit my release and clawed at the sheets, desperately trying to stifle my pleasure and Dark hit his release and immediately stuffed his face into a pillow and moaned into it. He looked over at me. "You do look hotter without glasses you know." I said. Dark smiled.
