Epilogue

Laying down, I had the phone to my ears and was playing with a rubber band that was on my arm.

"This dorm is so small, it's making me claustrophobic," I stated and her chuckle rang through my ears.

"You're like filthy rich. Why live in a dorm?" Reese's voice was heard through the other line.

"I have my own apartment but I stay in here in case I'm too tired to go home," I answered.

"Is that even allowed?" She asked me which I told her I didn't know.

College was stressing me out so badly. It was October and I really wanted to see my family. Once I heard keys, I sighed.

"She's here. I'll talk to you later, babe," I said to my girlfriend.

"Bye, I love you."

I grinned widely. "And I love you."

After she hung up, the door swung opened to reveal Alison. She smirked at me. "Was that your girlfriend again?"

"Yeah. I really fucking miss her," I admitted while looking at the blank white ceiling.

"Well come on, let's go shopping to get your mind off of missing her. I hate seeing you so sad." Alison told me with a bright smile.

I got up and followed her out the door, leaving my phone on the bed.

The whole shopping trip was fun but when I was driven back to my apartment where I was lonely in, I couldn't help but feel sad again.

I missed Rick and Alex. They still keep in touch but I wish it was like old times in high school where we would just hang out.

Then there's my actual family who still worked as much and I really hated leaving Venus alone but I know she had her group of friends even if they were weirdos.

And dammit, I missed Reese so much. The last time I saw her in person was when we were saying goodbye to each other after our road trip which was us hugging for like 20 minutes. I had to watch her plane leave which broke my heart.

It was so hard being without her. I missed her lips, her scent, her warmth and her arms being wrapped around my neck.

Before she left, she told me that if I ever saw the brighter star, that means we're a lot closer than we think.

So here I was, sitting on my little balcony and watching that brighter star. It was here for the first time and her words ran through my head multiple times.

Are we close?

I mean, I know she was in Texas working hard with soccer and school and she was tremendously busy but we couldn't be that close.

I shook my head and headed towards my bed and as soon as I hit it, I was enveloped into a deep sleep.

I was awake but my eyes weren't open and I could just open them but for some reason, I was scared.

Probably because there was something heavy on me. Oh wait, there was!

I didn't know what it was but I prayed it wasn't a burglar because that would not be good.

I then felt myself being shaken. I furrowed my eyebrows, feeling so scared. My chest was rising at a faster pace and I was ready to grab my pillow and hit the shit out of this burglar!

Well, until they spoke.

"Wake up, sleepyhead." My body froze at the familiar voice and in milliseconds, my eyes snapped open and widened at who was sitting on top of me.

"Surprise?" Reese asked me with her hands pressing on my stomach.

"Reese!" I squealed as I sat up and pulled her into my arms so tightly. I couldn't help but let the tears fall.

"Oh no, please don't cry. I'm not that special," She chuckled.

"Shut up. You're very damn special to me. Gosh, I saw the star too and I didn't think it was going to actually happen–"

A finger was pressed against my lips. "Hey, stop rambling and get dressed. You're showing me around this place."

I nodded eagerly as she got off of me so I could head to the bathroom and do my routine.

I walked out with a baby blue sundress, white flats and a French reverse braid.

"I missed that so much, braids." She told me while playing with my braid.

"I missed that too," I told her and immediately pressed my lips onto hers. She giggled during the kiss which caused me to giggle as well.

Curse her contagious giggle!

"Now tell me about Stanford," She instructed while opening the door.

I smiled while walking out. "Well..."
