Chapter 11- Friends

I showed Aiko everywhere, even our school! Of course, the school was open, for summer school, sports, things like that. She seemed very amazed.

Aiko-"(Smiles) This school is so big! May we go inside?"

Sylvia-"Of course! You can meet some of the teachers. (Goes in) This is the lockers, we put our shoes in there or whatever. We come to school with our  traditional school shoes on and when it is time to leave, we put on our most comfortable shoes on or whatever shoes we have in there. We also have our gym clothes in these lockers, the girls have pink and the boys have blue uniforms. We have shorts, they have long pants. (Goes to room) As you can see, this is our dance class, it's not mandatory, you choose whether or not you want to be in there. All of these rooms are the classrooms on this hall, we'll talk about that later. The cafeteria is down there, but a lot of people brings their own lunch and eat in the classroom. The snack and drink machines are by the cafeteria and outside, let's go outside now. This section is for the tennis team, that's for the track team, over there is for gym, and everything else is for other sports players. This big sink here is f-"

Aiko-"Shouldn't this be inside instead of outside?"

Sylvia-"I was getting to that, it's out here for when we wash things or when we're doing something creative. There are a few rules you must know for this school... Rule one, you can't wear accessories or anything like that or they will confiscate it. Rule, two, you have to study! Rule three, no running or playing or you will get in trouble... I think you'll do fine, they'll tell you the rest of the rules when you come. Any questions?"

Aiko-"Why is this school so strict?"

Sylvia-"(Laughs) Well, they really have faith in us and they really want us to be successful in life, they don't want any distractions in the way. Also, at this school, they do not tolerate dating because they say it's a distraction. However, if you hide it very good, then they won't know."

Aiko-"Wow..."

We went back to my house and we have gotten to know each other a lot. Of course,I haven't told her I had a boyfriend yet. She'll find out sooner or later...
