Chapter 20- Engaged

We are engaged, I can't believe that we are engaged! I spend the night at Akio's place and he invites his mother to my place. I have butterflies in my stomach, I'm nervous. I'm going to get married....I wonder what my parents will think, would they be happy? Or disappointed? Are they going to congratulate me? Or lecture me? I don't know, I'm scared of what his mother may think as well, what if she doesn't give me her consent? Most importantly, is this what I want?

Akio-"Are you alright?"

Sylvia-"It's just....What if your mother doesn't want me to be the one by your side?"

Akio-"It's fine, Sylvia, really, my mother loves you! You'll be an amazing bride, I don't want anyone else...."

Sylvia-"Thank you so much, Akio! Let's go!"

Knowing my parents, they probably already know what the good news is. My mother does a lot of spying when it comes to me and boys, most of the time. The ride to my house was long and  suspenseful, but it was actually worth it. When we get there, Ming and Jaejung was there! What is he doing here? Could it be that he knows....?

Sylvia-"Ming! Hello, it's been so long since I've seen you, you're still beautiful!"

Ming-"Aww, Sylvia, I missed you even more! I'm so happy to finally see you!"

Sylvia-"I'm so glad! Everyone.... Akio and I have some wonderful news....he and I are getting married!"

Diamond-"Oh my gosh! I'm so proud of you, Sylvia! (Hugs) I'm so happy for you!"

Ming-"That is amazing, Jaejung, look at the beautiful ring! You are going to make a gorgeous bride!"

Juntao-"My little girl is growing up."

Sylvia-"Thank you everyone, where is Akane?"

Diamond-"She said she wasn't able to make it, she had something urgent at work to attend to. When are you going dress shopping?"

Sylvia-"I'm not sure because we're not having the wedding very soon. We were planning on taking our time and plan the wedding...."

Juntao-"Well, when do you two want to have the wedding?"

Akio-"Sylvia....?"

Sylvia-"I wanted to have it on our third year of college....Is that alright with you, Akio?"

Akio-"Perfect, that's fine! Just as long as you're happy."

Ming-"Isn't this beautiful, Jaejung?"

Jaejung-"(Looks other way) Whatever....I'll be outside."

Ming-"Jaejung...."

Jaejung leaves, he looked upset. Why is he upset, I thought he was dating Yanota, why is he upset? I look at my ring, it's so beautiful and I look at Akio....He smiles warmly at me. Now that we're engaged, will I be living with him now....?
