"Misao! Misao Sakura, right?"

I jump up, excited to see her. There was no mistaking the giant, famous brown doe eyes and silky doll like brown hair. Misao and I had been close friends back in high school ever since she moved into town during junior year. We got along so well that we were practically inseparable. All she could talk about was how badly she wanted to be an actress. She sadly had to move away just before senior year ended.

But there was no mistaking it! I had really bumped into Misao Sakura. Shortly after senior year ended, she entered into the world of fame and gained incredible popularity based on her sharp acting skills and adorable persona. It was great seeing her on tv, with her dreams accomplished.

I just wished I could have been there to see her through her journey, supporting her

I just wished I could have been there to see her through her journey, supporting her...

Misao blinks her cute brown eyes at me, tilting her head to the side. For a moment she really looks like a confused little doll. I feel a bit depressed and think she's forgotten about me when I see her eyes widen and her manicured hand come up to point at me in shock.

"M-Momoko Miwa! No way! Is it really you?!"

"It's me! I never thought I'd get to see you in person again!"

"Oh, Momoko! I'm sorry I had to move away...I lost contact with you and everything..."

"Th-That's okay, you were probably busy..!" The both of us are tearing up before we can get the rest of our words out. Misao takes both of my hands and starts to sob, the tears ruining her makeup. I giggle and try to wipe her tears, but I get too busy wiping my own to keep up with them all.

"It's so great to see you again! And look at you, you look so mature and beautiful.." Misao wraps her arms around my neck and holds me tight as if I'd vanish if she let go.

"Me? You're the one all dolled up! I can't believe this is happening..." all of the emotions I had felt after years of wanting to talk to her, hug her, be with her again came out in such a rush that I was surprised I had ever been able to go a day without seeing her.

It seems like hours before a couple of women run over and practically pry Misao off of me to stand her up and dust off her dress.

They're touching up her makeup a few seconds later, and Misao is pouting like a little girl having her face wiped by her mother

"G-Geez! Can't you guys see I'm having a moment here!"

When Misao and I make eye contact again, we burst into laughter. Laughing with her felt so nostalgic. She and I shared the same sense of humor. We used to get into trouble so much in high school for giggling in class.

I'm so glad to see...

"..you haven't changed." Misao said before I could get out my own sentence. I smile back at her warmly, feeling like a broken piece of me had been put back together.
