"I broke up with you. Misao and I are dating..."

Dating...

We broke up...

We broke up...

Don't you remember...?

"Um, no, actually, I don't recall discussing such a thing with you!" I ball up my fists, tears stinging my eyes. I try to hold Yuji's gaze, but it proves difficult. Looking into his golden eyes and hearing him say such horrible words was like being caught in the middle of a nightmare.

Yuji smiles back at me darkly, but his eyes are a bit more complicated. They seemed...sad, almost...filled with something almost indescribable. It didn't quite match with his expression and words. As much as I tried to deny it and shrug it off as just another one of those things I noticed about him, the longer I did look at him, the more obvious it became to me.

Something seems very off here...

His eyes begin to twinkle back at me as my face begins to change. They're bright, the specs of gold in them flashing the way they did each time he was excited or proud. The exact look was a lot more prominent in him each time I watched him get into character. His acting was so convincing, although it was his eyes that held a consistent difference..

This...this is an act.

I didn't have time to feel relieved or comforted before I was grabbed and led further away from Yuji. As I looked at him, showing him with my eyes that I understood to play along, he let a small, albeit brief smile spread across his face..

My eyes quickly went over to Misao, watching her closely. I only saw deviance in her, watching her smirk widen more and more the farther I was led away. Something told me that whatever was going on, Misao wasn't exactly in on it, either.

I look back at Yuji, trying to scan him with all my might, as quickly as I could, just to be sure. One last time.

When I look back into his eyes, they're bright with emotion. His head tilts forward, so slight I almost thought it was my imagination. As small as it was, it was a reassuring nod. He was encouraging what I had suspected!

Then, for a fraction of a second, he gives me his sweet smile. That smile that had enough genuine love in it that I could never mistake his feelings.

Yuji Oshiro still loved me! And he was up to something. And he needed me to play along.

I grit my teeth and pull my arms out of the rough grasps of the security guards, rolling my eyes. I step away from them and start walking toward the door.

"I don't know WHY you're grabbing me like that, I know how to get out of here!"

"Sorry, Miss Miwa, just following orders..."

"Whatever, you two. Did they really have to send two of you to get me? I'm not that dangerous!" I turn on my heel and start to walk back the way I had come. There had been a massive crowd of people that had gathered to see what the commotion was about. As I walked straight toward the door, they cleared a path for me like I had a disease, whispering.

I could care the hell less.

"Don't come back, the studio has been doing so great without you, Momoko." Misao shouts after me. I immediately stop walking and turn to glare at her. I watch her flinch as I fixate my eyes on her, and it makes me grin. Coward.

"Oh, Misao. I almost forgot you were there until you started yapping again. Irrelevance is your only talent, I guess!"

Irrelevance is your only talent, I guess!"
