"Push harder, Eron. She's almost here. Harder!"
A scream pierced the air as Mrs. Price pushed. With all her might, she pushed. Squeezing her husband's hand, she brought life into the world.
A different kind of scream interrupted the commotion in the room. The kind where silence follows and a series of gasps erupt.
"Congratulations! You have a beautiful, healthy girl." A baby bundled in blankets, still moist from the placenta, was handed to the mother. "What will you name her?"
Mrs. Price cried as her husband wiped sweat from her face and neck.
"Maple. Maple Price."
