Chapter Thirty-Six

"Wouldn't want to make daddy mad"

"This is perfect." Bailey grinned as she grabbed some torn black hoodie off the rack. She waved it in front of my face proudly, and when i didn't react she shot me a glare.

"I guess some people don't understand the art of fashion." She huffed as she tucked the hoodie over her arm and continued searching through the racks of clothing.

"Bailey, I understand the art of fashion. Its just i don't understand the art of homeless fashion." i told her, looking down at my outfit that consisted of pink shorts and a white hoodie. Maybe, i didn't know all that much about fashion, but, i knew that wearing torn clothing wasn't really classified as social acceptable.

"Geez, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or should i say, on the floor with the attitude you're giving me." She gasped dramatically, placing her hand on her chest in fake shock.

Its not that i woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or floor, its just Luke kept me up all night because he wouldn't go to sleep and decided to puke every six minutes, due to the high levels of alcohol in his system. Basically, i was stuck babysitting a huge drunk blonde.

"I know, im sorry." I sighed. "I just didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night."

"Well, you should get some sleep tonight since we're going to a party tomorrow." Bailey said with a persuasive tone, as she continued looking through the clothes, trying to slide the idea in.

"Very funny." I said with a raspy chuckle, clutching the white sweater i was buying closer to my body. Parties weren't really my, well, scene.

"Come on, Amber. Its just what you need to lighten up." She whined as she tried to pull her best puppy face, as if that was going to change my mind. I rolled my eyes as she did her best to look cute, but failed everytime, since her bright hair and dark make up didn't exactly make a 'cute' picture.

" I do not need to lighten up." I gasped, as i clutched my chest in fake shock, mocking what she had done before.

"Uh, yeah you do." Bailey told me, ignoring my attempt to annoy her. "You're so uptight."

"Am not." I huffed tilting my head to the side as i shot her a cold hard stare. If anything she was the uptight one, buying all that black. I  was far  from uptight.

"Okay, whatever you say. You're still coming to that party tomorrow, even Luke is going." Bailey said mindlessly, as she headed over to the counter to pay for her items. When did Luke go to parties? He was almost always at home, well, except for dinner time.

"But bailey, i really don't want to go." I whined as the clerk checked out our items under the little white  scanner.

"Amber Mae, you're going if you like it or not." Bailey said, speaking to me like a mother would with a stubborn child.

"No im not."

"Yes you are."

"No."

"Yes, amber."

"No."

"Yeah you are or-"

"45 dollars please." The perky clerk's voice interrupted our argument. Bailey shot her a glare then pulled a 50 out of her purse, handing it to the annoying clerk.

"here's your change, hope you come back soon!" She chirped, handing us our change along with the bag of clothes. Bailey rolled her eyes and grabbed my wrist, pulling me outside the store.

"Now, as i was saying." She began, looking around to make sure no one in the mall was listening to our conversation before an evil smirk fell apon her face, "Luke said you are going because you don't want to make your daddy mad."
