Chapter Thirty-Nine

"Hangovers and salads."

"Good morning sleepy head." Bailey's voice rang through my head, causing waves of pain to erupt throughout my body. I let out a long groan and snuggled further into the blankets, trying to fall back asleep.

"Amber, its 1:30 you have to wake up sometime." She soothed, lightly shaking my shoulders as she tugged down the blankets.

My eyes croaked open as sunlight filled my vision. I was far from ready to get up. My eyelids would slowly creep back down and I'd have to open them back up to stop myself from falling asleep. I suddenly regret drinking as much as i did last night but I guess nobody really thinks of the morning after -- or should I say afternoon after.

I felt the blankets being slowly tugged down my legs and I scowled once I saw Bailey pulling them off of me with a satisfied grin. This isn't what I needed right now. Right now, all I needed is to snuggle back into my blankets and forget about all that happened last night, well, the parts I remember at least.

"Come on Am, wake up." Bailey groaned, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. "We can go to your favorite cafe if you wake up."

My eyes opened a little more at the mention of my favorite cafe. It was one of my favorite places to go during my free time, the cafe was kind of like my safe place.

Moe's was located on the outskirts of Sydney so it was kind of on the down low, and didn't get much business --  making it the perfect place to be in peace. Plus, the coffee and donuts were amazing.

I nodded lightly, which was a big mistake since I had a major headache, and I climbed out of Bailey's bed with my eyes still half closed.

"Finally! The queen has awoken!" Bailey cheered before she ran over to her desk and grabbed a glass of water and pills that I hadn't noticed there before. "Take these." She told me with a smile, handing me over the small white pills.

I swallowed the pills and washed them down with water. I would have asked what the pills were, but i was still too tired and out of it to think of asking about anything at the moment. So, I just assumed they were ibuprofen.

"Do you have any clothes I can burrow?" I asked bailey, motioning down to my make up stained sweater and white dress. Bailey shot me a look of sympathy, but nodded anyway and quickly ran over to her dresser, pulling out black leggings and a gray sweater.

"These should be comfy." She told me, nodding simply as i made my way to the bathroom to change.

I looked myself in the mirror and felt myself gag in my throat. I looked hideous.

My hair was thrown every which way and matted into oblivion. Not to mention my makeup from last night that was dried in rivers down my face. I guess this was nothing more than what you'd expect from a girl who's heart was broken into a million pieces.

I let out a small sigh as i turned on the water, running my hands underneath it before splashing it on my face in attempt to rid my sorrows away. I lightly grimaced at the thought of the aftermath of all the makeup clogging my pours -- pimple heaven.

Once I was done with cleaning my face and combing through my mess of my hair, I changed out of my tight dress and into the clothes that Bailey had given me. She was right, they were way more comfy than the clothes I'd worn last night.

I attempted to finger brush my teeth, but soon gave up and just gurgled some mouthwash and called it a day, heading back to Baileys room.

"Is the BLT any good?" Bailey asked as she looked over her menu with a look of confusion. I chuckled at her, before returning my gaze to my menu. Even though I always got the same thing everytime I came here, it had kind of become a habit of looking through the menu.

Awkward silence overcame us as we waited for our waiter to come over and take our orders. It was alright though, I didnt really feel like talking. All I felt like doing is replaying the scene from last night over and over again in my head. I felt like studying everything the girl did to draw Luke in and what I did to scare him away.

For starters, I noticed how fit she was. All her curves complimenting her small fit body perfectly. Unlike me, my body wasn't fit at all and I was a little chubby. Maybe nobody else saw how fat I actually was, but i for sure did -- expecially compared to the girl from last night.

"Bailey?" I whispered, causing the girl to snap her head up from her phone and tilt her head.

"Yeah?" She asked, shifting in her chair.

"Do you think we can stop at a supercuts or something?" I questioned. I needed to change something about myself and this was the first step.

"Uhm, i-" Bailey started with wide eyes, but was cut off by the waiter who was finally taking our orders.

"What are you two hoping to get today?" She chirped, smiling her perfectly white teeth as she gazed at me expectantly.

Usually, I'd go for the chocolate chip pancakes but I started to think how the girl from last night probably didn't form her body by eating chocolate chip pancakes but probably went for something healthier.

"I'll take a salad with a water, thank you." I told her, smiling shyly. The girl nodded and scribbled down my order before turning to bailey,

"I'll take the chocolate chip pancakes and a coke, thanks." Bailey told the lady with a smile.

"Alright-y." The waiter smiled before running off. To where? I don't know because I was too focused on Bailey staring at me with and skeptical look.

"A salad? I myself have never ever seen Amber choose to eat a salad." She said as she stared me down with furrowed eyebrows. I simply shrugged before changing the subject back to what it was prior to the waiter coming over.

"So, about the hair dressers?" I asked, swirling my fork around the table -- trying to avoid eye contact with Bailey. Bailey let out a long sigh before replying,

"Yeah, i guess we could head to the hairdressers." She nodded, "What are you even going to do there?"

"Get a trim, I guess." I told her, leaving it at that since the water came over with our drinks. Bailey and I nodded towards the waiter, saying our thanks before turning back towards eachother,

"You, Amber are something else." She smiled, before chugging down her coke.
