It was about one forty-five and I was still surprised that I was going to audition.

Even after all this time, part of me couldn't believe I was adopted by one of my favorite bands, went on tour with them, met a lot of my other favorite bands, became friends with one of my favorite female singers, and performed in front of thousands of people. Now I'm here, writing my own music and planning on auditioning to be a contestant for a popular tv show.

I was fiddling with a ukulele the guys had in the basement. Should I have been messing with it without permission? Probably not, but I was doing it for musical purposes. I played percussion in band when I was in school so this was new to me, but I eventually figured out the tabs and stuff. The first song I tried to play was House of Gold. It wasn't too bad, but there were a lot of pauses. I gave up and put it back.

There was a sound of the basement door opening and footsteps.

"Hey babe? Can you come upstairs for a minute?" Andy said. I guess he and Taylor were back.

"I guess." She huffed and walked up the stairs. I took the pickle jar back upstairs so I could empty it out and throw it away.

"I'm sorry, Blake." Taylor said as he had one arm wrapped around my waist and his head on my shoulder. I turned around to look at him. He was holding flowers in one hand and rubbing the back of his neck with the other.

"For...?" I didn't understand what he was apologizing for.

"I know I annoyed you earlier and I'm sorry." He said as he handed me the flowers.

"Oh, um...thank you." I said as I turned to put them in water. He leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"Turn around." He said. I went and looked into the living room and Andy and Juliet were sitting on the couch together with his hand on hers.

"You know, we've been dating for a while now, and the band and I were planning on moving to a bigger house. Well, it's going to be a longer drive from your place to mine, and Taylor is going to need a mother figure around, so I guess what I'm trying to ask is, will you move in with me?" He finally did it. He finally asked her to move in with him. That was probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

"Y-yes. I'll have to talk to Angie and tell her I'm moving out, though." She said.

"I can't wait until we go back to L.A." Taylor said in my ear.

"Me too." I said back. Headlights reflected off of the house and the sound of car doors opening came from outside. Several pairs of footsteps came closer and the door swung open.

"We're back." Casey said.

"I see that." I told them.

"Some of the guys didn't drink because they decided it would be better if at least one of them weren't too hungover to get the others on the plane." He laughed and I nodded. I pulled him aside so I could talk to him.

"So what's going on?" I asked.

"With..?"

"My dad. Why did he walk out on my mom and I? Why did he keep my sister? Why does he want to meet me all of a sudden? When and where are we meeting?"

"He said he and your mom barely had enough money to care for your sister and then I guess when your mom was pregnant with you, your grandparents couldn't help with money anymore, so your dad ran off with your sister and raised her at your grandma's. He wanted to meet you when he found out about you, but he didn't know how you would react, so he waited until you got adopted so you didn't think you had to go with him as an only way out. He said he wants to meet at the motocross track on Tuesday after your check up. I can take you, since I gotta supervise and stuff." He said and I nodded. My dad's excuse sounded like bullshit, but I went with it. I asked when his flight was.
