"Jack, seriously, where are we going?" I asked as we turned the corner.

"Chill out, we're going to the pet store." He laughed.

"Why didn't you just tell me that instead of being all mysterious?" I asked.

"I don't know." He continued driving. We eventually made it to the pet store and Jack's excitement increased with each step he took towards the entrance. We approached the front desk and Jack spoke to the cashier.

"Hey, I'm Jack. I called earlier about a bunny?" He said.

"Oh, hey. Um, yeah, follow me." She said with a smile. She looked about nineteen.

"I'll be right back. You two can have a look around, if you want." She said as she disappeared into the back.

"Hey I have clothes in the backseat, if you want to change." Jack said.

"Your clothes won't fit me."

"No, your clothes are in the car."

"Oh. Why do you have my clothes?" I asked.

"In case you wanted to change, duh!" He shook his head. I pulled out my phone and checked the time before going out to the car so I could change. I felt stressed, kind of like I didn't have my shit together. Like I need to do something to validate my existence.

After changing, I went back inside and saw Jack holding Alex's bunny, and a small plastic bowl.

"You wanna hold him?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure..." I answered. I took the floppy-eared bunny into my arms, while Jack examined what was in the small bowl.

"Do you think Zack will like it?" He asked. I took a look at what he was referring to. I bit my lip to keep me from saying something insulting.

"He'll love it." I lied. A gerbil. Jack got him a gerbil. Don get me wrong, I love Jack, but he has zero impulse control.

"What if we got Rian a bunny, too?" He asked.

"Do it, I dare you." I said sarcastically.

"Okay." He walked towards the area where the bunnies were contained.

"Jack, I was-" He pointed at a small gray bunny.

"I want that one." He looked over at the girl. It took her a second to snap into reality, but once she did, she opened the top and scooped the small fluff ball out.

"Now this one is a Netherland dwarf bunny, so they aren't going to get very big. It'll probably get to the size of what your Holland lop is now." She said.

"Sweet. Thank you so much." Jack said as we went to the counter to pay.

"Have a nice night." She said as we were on our way out.

"Thanks, you too." I said. We went out to the car and Jack put the gerbil in the cup holder. I held onto to bunnies while Jack drove back to the house.

"Okay, I'm going to put the gerbil down my pants, and put the big bunny in my shirt. You put the little bunny in your shirt and run to my room as fast as you can." Jack told me.

"Okay, don't put the gerbil down your pants." I said.

"Too late." He got out, stole a bunny from me, and ran inside. I sighed as I put the gray bunny's head through the head hole of my shirt and let it chill in my bra. I walked inside, and Luke ran into my side.

"Sorry, I didn't see you there." He said. I checked to see if the bunny was okay, and told him it was fine. Then I saw his bloodshot eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked.
