Cruel Fate (Ghirahim x Link)

When darkness takes hold
Of the brave and the bold
Hylia's hero shall rise
He will learn his destiny
And face the enemy
Before he dies.
Yet this curse of the goddess
Isn't the oddest
Of the things the hero sees
For in his lives,
During his rise,
A demon shall fulfill his needs

In a life in the sky
Was when they met
Within a temple
Their fate was set
A fight for the goddess,
And the sake of light,
Was the very reason
These two would fight
But during his quest,
The hero felt for his enemy
And once he confessed
He knew his true destiny

The demon was conflicted
Confusion flooded his mind
But falling for the hero
Allowed relief into his heart and mind
The two took one another,
Their souls became bound
Hoping their secret
Was never to be found
But the faithful day came
When it would all end
Demise was sealed away,
Bringing peace to the land

The lovers were caught
As they said their goodbyes
But the goddess accepted them,
Her hero and servant of Demise
The two were happy,
Until one faithful day
As he drew his final breaths
On the bed that he laid
The demon was saddened
As his lover had died
Left with only his final words
To ease his troubled mind

A century later,
Upon the surface grounds
The hero was reborn
In the kingdom of Hyrule that was found
The process repeated
As the hero saved the land
They met, fell in love,
Before he died holding his hand
Through each incarnation
The demon cursed the gods
For taking his lover
After putting him through difficult odds

The demon lord cried
As his hero once again died
After saving the world
His eyes full of tears
Again facing his fears
Of losing his pearl
They'd tell him it'll be alright
His broken heart he should fight
He just wished they'd give it to him straight
From the beginning he knew,
Realizing what he believed was true
That he was given a cruel fate...

Sorry if the poem sucks. It's like midnight where I live and I really wanted to update something other than my Zelda fanfic. So here's this sad, crappy poem of Ghirahim feeling sad that he has to watch Link die over and over until the end of time. I promise to make a light hearted oneshot with this pairing next time.
